i know there are a lot of nes emulators released and i was wondering what the best one was and if any of them have game genie or save states im using nesterX now and it doesnt although it does run smooth.

Try FCEUltra which has save states but not Game Genie (although it has its own proprietary cheat system). You might also want to check out this thread by Xport where he's asking for new ideas for the next version of FCEUltra.
