Title: How Do I Play Games From External Hdd

This can be achieved with JTAG or RGH. This requires hardware modification / additional hardware.

If I am not mistaken you can how treat external drives and USB sticks as valid 360 storage devices up to 16gb in size.

All you have to do is plug it in and setup a 360 partition then use it as you would a standard 360 HDD.
You drop the games on it via the Y button.

^ Uh...yeah. You can use 16 gigs of any usb drive as storage for games or saves. It's only 16 gigs so cant fit many games.

Really? I know they don't work for DLC. Never tried to install a game to one but figure I would get the same unsupported error even though its showing Im allowed to select it.

Pretty sure they are good for saves/Live stuff and possibly XBLA.

Playing from a different media with a console that has heavily modified software on a very secure server that constantly checks for exactly that would say that Live does not work with playing backups from USB storage.
