Title: Need To Reboot Jtag 360 To Switch Games?

Hey guys,

I just JTAG'd my 360 this weekend and I'm running freeboot with 9199.  I also upgraded my internal drive with a 640GB western digital...  

I then used Xexmenu and transferred some games to the drive using iso2god... The games show up in the game library and they load fine... However, when I exit a game back to the dashboard and try to load another game it gives me an error:

"The game could not start.  Please download the game again."

Once I reboot the 360 I can load another game, but I need to shut off the console before switching games...  Is this normal behavior, or is there some way I can make this work?

i am having the same problem.  everything was fine, but i reformatted my HDD inthe machine and FTPed the backup over, now i am experiencing the EXACT same issue.  will load fine, but have to reboot system to load another iso2god file.... ive seen a few post like this but no answers, even tried clearing the cache... no dice, anyone have a fix for this?

I had this same issue and I just couldn't figure it out! Then I realized I still had my xexmenu boot disk in my dvd drive. I took it out and now I can quit and switch games as much as I like. Tell me if this helps.

removal of the XEXmenu disk is what did it for me!  i cant believe i didnt think of that...

Wow... I think I had the xex disc in my drive the whole time as well.  I even updated to freeboot 0.4 with 12611 and it was still the same problem.

I will try taking the disc out of the drive when I get home from work... Fingers crossed!

Glad it worked for you! Yeah forever I was trying to figure it out I was like why the hell is it making me reboot to switch games. I was asking my other buddy who is huge into the modding scene and he was like I have no idea, maybe you need to format your HDD. Thank god I didn't. It seems that after you play one game from your HDD and quit and try to play another it tries to read the disk or something. I could hear it spinning the disk so I was like crap! Pulled it out and has been great ever since!

This worked for me too!  It's the same problem with freeboot 0.4 and the 12611 dash... With the Xexmenu disc in the drive, you can't switch games without rebooting the console.  Take it out and it works fine!

Thanks 'thapharm', that problem didn't make any sense to me, lol
