I'm not sure this exploit it's already present here on Xbox-scene. I tried to give a look around and couldnt find it, so I decided to post it here.
It's already a widely tested exploit and it works 100%. It only appears it has been snobbed each time I mentioned it on Xbox-scene. So.. here it's the thread for everybody NOT to avoid. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I know LT+ is close to arrive, but even with LT+ flashed in the console, this exploit will allow to play AP2.5 games while waiting for SS3 to come.

If anybody has already made a thread about this, and I couldnt find it, sorry I apoligize, but better one thread too much about it, than no thread at all.

You dont need a JTag. Actually it's an ordered sequence of 3 updates to the kinect dash from the Kinect games. So it's safe, and it results in installing kinect with no AP2.5

Here's how (dont know if I can post it in this thread though):

NOTE this method only works if you have not updated to the kinect dashboard, but still have the old one (9199) or earlier.

If you have a dash earlier than the 9199, update to the 9199 using THIS update

1-Install update Kinect adventure. Unzip the file UPDATE-KINECT-ADVENTURES.rar, place it on a pendrive formatted in FAT32, place it on the console and turn on.
The new dashboard will be the 2.0.12413.0

2-Delete the folder from the pendrive, and unzip the second file UPDATE-KINECT-ANIMALS.rar

3-Install update Kinect animals, in the same way as above.
The new dashboard will be the 2.0.12416.0

4. Install the this kinect update (it's the update from Assassin's Creed Brotherhood)

And that's it. You can play any game, old or new, AP2.5 and not.
And XVal still clean!

This exploit has been first found by Luigi Marconi, from ixtrememod.wordpress, and then perfected in this method by WizZy.

You're welcome, hope it finally gets attentions.
Everybody ever so eager about playing AP2.5 games, or worried there'll be LT+ but no SS3 games, and they let this exploit pass.....

NOTE:
I want to specify that the third update is needed by those who have an old iXtreme and need to patch their game. Since a patched game wont work, you need to install the update from the file.
All the others can alternatively get the third update popping in a non patched copy of the game.

i have an old ixtreme i used to patch my wave 4 games into wave 2 or wave 3 in order to work, and you said that the last update is necessary to these kind of ixtreme so if i update my xbox with these updates the ap2.5 games will work by patching them to wave 3 with 360WavesPatcher ???

Yo thank you a lot, i cant get the second link says its not available or sometn`and i wanted to ask my xbox had a lite on, but replaced it a while ago with a benq would i still be able to do these updates and get the games to work?

I was hoping this would work for me. I am trying to play Harry Potter and the deathly hallows. Problem is it is a kenitc game. You can play it with a controller only. But I need the full update to get it to work. I put disk in and it says play DVD. I ran it through abgx and it says all OK. even though harry potter is not in the database.

What I can tell you is that this has nothing to do with a mod, but just a dash uodate that bypass installation of AP2.5 payload on a Kinect dash. And works on any dash as long as it's 9199 or earlier and on any drive. So I dont see why it shouldnt work. Although pardon my ignorance, I dont know what's a verion...

Yeah, check it out. Also, have you tried playing any other wave 8 or 9 game, or an AP2.5 game?
They all work if you followed the tut.
If you decided not to update from the third download but from the game (granted you can play non-patched games), the game must be an AP2.5 game.

So is this exploit a solid solution to play AP2.5 games for ex. on banned consoles ?
Or is it necessary to wait for LT+, no matter if your banned or not ?

Because from what I understand it's a some kind of AP2.5 bypass. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm sure it'll come the day MS will realize how fool they've been and will make a patch against the exploit through some game, but till then, it will work. I see it as a temporary help, that even with LT+ installed will get you through the time till SS3 will come out.
Then again, MS might take long before packing a patch on some game.

I tried this method, and it worked like a charm for me too. Thanks for the post. I have an unbanned console, so I tired it at my own risk.

A quick question:

I used the update inside the AC:B game disk at the 4th step. If I try another AP2.5 game in the future (for instance NFS), will it ask me again to update the dashboard with the one inside the game disk. If yes, does it make a problem?

Then you shouldnt have any problem with any game. I havent heard about Harry Potter before, but maybe people just jumped on ACB ehehe.
Those who already performed this exploit and have Harry Potter, should pop the game in and confirm.

I completed all the steps and AC:B is working fine without any problem. What if I connect to Live now? Does it ask me to update to newer dashboard (2.0.12611.0)? Or can it connect to Live without updating the dashboard coming with AC:B (2.0.12416.0)?

This whole process is quite legal. It's like, say, you popped in your console these tree games in this sequence. So you're not doing anything wrong.
The worst that can happen is that MS might pack some dash update in some future game and cover this exploit, so that you wont be able to play protected games (unless LT+ has come out for hitachi's too).
I mean... you've got nothing to lose; at the very least you enjoyed all the new games till MS pulls his head out of his behind and pack a new dash on a future game. Which can take quite a while. And still you can avoid that/those games.

PS arent Hitachi 47 immune to AP2.5 already?

Ok call me a dumb ass. got it working. I have a benq spoofed as a lite-on running i-xtreme 1.5. Just updated it to lt 1.2. But I hope a benq can be spoofed. If not off to ebay I go to get a lite-on. No biggie. just a hassle. But Well worth it. Thanks for the help and thanks c4eva......

But I wasn't really that worried about the legal stuff, though. Was just kinda worried that I would "ruin" a chance to beat AP25 by doing this workaround - and MS finding out about it and include a patch which will flag my xbox offline in a later game release. If that made sense? It's late, so I'm not good in explaining, sorry :/

LOL No, you were quite clear. I just added the legal part for your and other people's benefit (you know, in case they think they can be flagged just for doing this).
As for the worry, it's understandable, but as anything in the modding world there's always a moment when some cannon fodder alerts the community of new patches and stuff. Just be positive and alert, and pray you're not gonna be one of those cannon fodders ehehehe

So i started with a 9199 dash benq ixtreme 1.1 or 1.2 LT went through the three updates older games work but Need for Speed gave unreadable error now labels the game as mixed media. This is a offline xbox.

You also must be sure that the console recognized and updated each and every time the dash.
Some time it might not recognize the flash drive and get the update. In which case it should be fed by CD or DVD.
You might try also with Fable 3 (if you've got a copy), just to see if the problem is in the DVD.

Yes, I posted in the tut the dash number after each update.
If you dont know how to check it in your console, you have to go to System Setting---> infos.

It appears roughly ok, although it's not verified, and it's not stealth. Maybe you should let it check for anyDVD corruption.

If you've got a Fable 3 laying around, that you know worked, try to play that one.

not sure if the 3rd update changes the dash number but i am on dash 2.0.12416.0 Fabel 3 worked in my unit before any dash updates.

Also when i try to run ABGX on the NFS burned disk just says error reading dvd but i though only certian dvd drives would read game disks

As for fable 3 it works only with the old dash, but since it's an AP2.5 game, it wont work on a new dash. So if you play it and it works, it means you are fooling the protection, this process was successful, and you're good to go.
It's that simple

Excellent work. I just updated my machine by putting the updates on 4 CDRs.

Something worth mentioning: the 360 will recognise one of these update CDs as a "mixed mode" disc and won't play it. That's fine, just restart the 360 with the update disc in the drive, it'll run.

Also, the correct way to burn the discs is to open up the ZIP/RAR files and drop the $SystemUpdate folder onto a disc. If correctly burned, when you put it in a PC or Mac you'll just see that one folder on there, with all its goodies tucked away inside. Don't just burn the zip/rar file, and don't just burn the contents of the $SystemUpdate folder.
MS have step-by-step instructions here.

The problem is the updated dash. 1.51 and benQ drive are ok.
I'm afraid it wont work for you cause your console wouldnt apply the updates on an already updated dash.

Did you guys notice that the update from Kinectimals (su20076000_00000000, CRC=038DC412, Dashboard: v2.0.12416.0) is the very same as the one from the AC:B/NFS:HP discs (CRC=038DC412, Dashboard: v2.0.12416.0), meaning that in the Step 3 the update is installed without the extra stuff found in the Video Partition (only the system update file), but then in Step 4, if you use one of the unpatched game discs, you're installing the very same update (you can find it inside the Game Partition), but now with the extra/missing files (avatars, etc...) from the Video Partition. Isn't this kind of redundant? Because you're installing twice the same update, except that the first time without the extras and then the full installation?. I bet that the second time it only installs the missing files.

Also, the link in Step 4 to the full update installation is not from the Brotherhood disc as it is described, because, while the files from the Video Partition are exactly the same (same CRCs), the System Update file is not -it has a different CRC- (CRC=6353009A) and it's two days newer than the one from Brotherhood.

Are people getting the same results (No AP Check) for both different final steps (the ones updating from unpatched discs, and the ones updating through the files from the link)?

And also, for the guys updating through the files from the link, which dashboard version do you see in your System Info screen?

I dont know if it also installs something to complete this AP2.5-less version, or that it would be enough with the second update (minus avatars), because if you're doing it for playing AP2.5 games, you'll have to play a AP2.5 game anyway sooner or later, and get the third update.

PS I think the AP2.5 game the last update is from was from Germany. I was told it's ACB, but it could also be NfS or Fable 3. Any AP2.5 game will achieve the same result. And that is that every single time the AP2.5 protection isnt installed. Either way (file or disc) they achieve the same results, that is an AP2.5-free kinect dash (otherwise they couldnt play the game after the procedure, in order to verify if it actually works....)

Good info. I've been checking the update files from my NTSC/U rips. But maybe the difference is due to the source of your last update been from Germany. Either way, it should be from AC:B or NFS:HP, because both games have the same update but Fable III has an older one.

did not work for me, i updated a friends 8955 box with a liteon 74580 drive spoofed as a hitachi 47 on 1.6.1 firmware

followed your directions exactly with a flash drive and it just says play dvd when i put an ap2.5 game in, i just put a brand spankin new laser in too because it wasnt playing anything

plays anything including black ops but no ap25 games

I updated my elite which had ixtreme1.6 I believe.
I did all three updates listed from the links in the first post. All the updates installed correctly in order using a pen usb stick. The dash now reads 2.0.12416.0 but when I try NFS or AC:B it says Play Dvd when inserted.
Old backups still work fine. XVal still says clean.
I probably should not have installed the last update because I have a newer version of iextreme?

Any ideas?

Help- really wanted to play NFS!

ok so I have an old iextreme 1.4 or 1.5 non stealth firmware.
All my games are patched to wave 2
I followed the steps exactly in the op. Everything went fine.
Now no games work, old or new. Just get the play DVD message.

Any ideas??

I've read this thread countless time and confussion still reigns supreme. I'm seeing this exploit work on alot of old consoles running old firmware tested with games that dont even have AP2.5.

So, to my question.

Has anyone had success with this exploit on a conole running a Liteon drive (2009 model) using the Iextreme LT firmware? And can you run Assassins Creed Brotherhood and the new Need for Speed?

ok this is very odd im seeing people saying fable 3 is not working cos of the new ap2.5, i did a dashboard update from assassin's creed brotherhood it installed the new kinect dashboard and its now on 2.0.12416.0
i put fable 3 back in and it works fine but i cant get assassin's creed brotherhood or Need 4 Speed Hot Pursuit to work without getting the "this disc is unreadable,
just seems odd to me that fable works and the others dont,

oh and i think my box is on iextreme 1.4 or 1.5 and its a sammy drive m25 i think,

My console is runnning the original dashboard, the one prior to 9199. I have installed Fable 3 (PAL) and it is running 100% and it never asked me to update.

So I am thinking the Fable 3 should be left out of this exploit test.

I think when MS will realize the huge misteake, it might include some patch in newer games, but this will let you go by till LT+ is out, and also till AP2.5-SS for the protected games will be available.
It might take a while before they pack a solution into some new game, till then, enjoy it..

Iìm sorry... it was absolutetly necessary to update the dash from those. Cause if you jumped on 24160, it wont apply those u updates anymore, since they are older than the one you already applied.

Fable 3 plays perfectly on an old dash, because it's wave 6. But since it has AP2.5, which will be activated on the new dash, Fable 3 will NOT work on the new dash. Also it will flag your console.

Fable 3 is ap 2.5 its just that unlike ACBH and NFSHP it doesn't include the new dashboard so doesn't force you to update to play the game. And as you rightly said the old dashboard does not support ap 2.5 checks.

"flag your console" is bad if you are a participant on Live , it would potentially get your box banned from logging into Live , if your never going online then it wouldn't pertain to you

my problem is i have got call of duty to work, not tried assasins creed or fable 3, but cannot for the life of me get need for speed hot pursuit to work...

is there a quick way around this, some say on youtube that there is a patch, when you click on link to dload the patch,it takes you to a questionaire which must be filled to give you the dload, this also asks for your name and address which instantly put me off so didnt dload it....

I got a Jasper lite-ON, superelite with 250gb HD, MW2 limited edition bought on december 2009. LT fw. Not banned nor flagged.
Worked for me without a single problem. And Xval still clean after it.

Actually it's not the same thing. The difference it's not just in the proper title, but in the fact that over there they TALK about some mixing and matching updates that resulted into a AP2.5 bypass. Here it's a step by step guide with the exact updates provided each with a link, which gives a synthax to the random trial and error.
No wonder why people couldnt sort it out in the other thread. Also.... the title was self explanatory: "No idea why?!?"

2ndly wannted to ask i havent got the lt for my benq ac brotherhood appears as play dvd how can i overcome this without updat the fw, fable 3 works so its only the new wves 8-9 as i can see... would the activate disc work?

Activate disc work if you got an iXtreme 1.6
Otherwise you need a wave patcher and patch them to wave 3.

I'm sorry. That wouldnt help. You're not screwed, since it all will be solved with the new LT+ coming out today. Only thing, you'll have to be more patient because there're no SS3 files yet to allowe LT+ to play the games.

LT+ is the new iXtreme, let's say. And it's good to go with BenQ and Lite-ON, right now. So you can flash it no problem.
As for SS3, it the result of 2 different Security Sectors:
SS2 which will provide the answers to the challanges the old AP2.0 protection presents to the drive.
AP2.5-SS, which will provide the answers to the challanges the new AP2.5 protection presents to the drive.
In order to work and play the game, LT+ will need these two SS in order to overcome the protecton challanges.

Yes, on IRC news is that LT+ is gonna be released today.
As for SS3, ABGX360 will be compatible with it, and able to patch it into the iso, once a verified copy of it will be present in its online database. At that point, you will be able to burn the game and play it with an LT+ flashed console.

Thank you for this detailed list of instructions and links to the various updates needed to perfrom the exploit.

Before i attempt it i just wanted to clarify some things that are bugging me!

I am sorry if i am not clear or if my questions are noobish!

Ok so i beleive i am in the correct set of circumstances to perform this update. I have a standard premium box with what i believe to be a Lite-on Drive with ixtreme 1.51 fw. I have the dash which was the one after the blades, i think its called NXE so i should be good to use the updates from the links.

I am not fussed about live and do not use it so i currently patch my backups to wave 3.

ok so my first query is this -

1. As my dash is the old style, i think its so old it doesnt have USB support! i saw ealrier someone did this exploit from updates burnt to cdr, is the best method for me to use?

2. Once i have 'hopefully' completed this exploit will i be able to play all my old wave 3 patched games as well as the new ones (AC:B and NFS)? i do not fancy re-burning!

3. will i have to wave 3 patch AC:B as i do with my older games to work on this new dash?

Im sorry if this has been answered previously, i read through thread but couldnt see it exactly and i get paranoid before trying anything new to the box!

P.s. i know microsoft may just patch this exploit out in next update and then i may have to get LT+ anyhow but i thought i would ask these questions in the hope i could get some help

OK, so I can play Fable 3 but NFS (100% clear disc no CRC errors Local rls.) appears as "read disc". My drive's FW is Ixtreme 1.61. Will flashing to LT help or I should have done wave patching before recording the disc ?

yes mate burning them to disk is what you should do
you will not have to burn all your old games again they will still play

Old game like Borderlands still work
I had 9199 ,fw benq 1.61
I used the 3 updates provided by the TUT used a 512mb verbatim USB stick.
The updates even fixed my avatar, I can now customize my avatar, before I could NOT.
I have the new dash and the numbers match up. I have questions now before burning.
I have never injected/patched games to a lower wave. I see some one point out 360 wave patches works when patching games to wave 3.

1.Do I need to do inject/patch for the following games?
AC B, NFS HP, SIMS 3,

2.Should i run the iso's through ABGX360 first?

3. Can i just NOT patch to a lower wave , and NOT run the games through ABGX360 and just burn the games?

That's an option, but then again you can flash straight to LT+ that's coming out today.
I suggest you still dont update to full dash yet, even with LT+, because this workaround will get you through till people will start ripping SS3.

1) the third and last download was actually the update from AC B, NdS and Fable 3. (sims 3 and HD do not have protection) So you wont need to update upon playing those games, but if you're asked to, you may.

2) If you usually patch games to lower waves, it doesnt matter if you pass them through abgx, since they are not stealth anymore.

3) If you usually patch your games to lower waves, you can still do so, or you can use the activate.iso boot disc before playing the unpatched game.

NOTE: this is for playing AP2.5 games without LT+, so you dont need to patch them to SS3.

At the moment, I'm downloading the last update (20124160_BETA.rar - AC:B ) which is going really really hard. At the same time, I'm writting the AC:B on a copy disk. Can I install the update directly from the disk, or would it be advised to install the update from an usb just like I did with the ones before ?

I have an xbox 360 with SAMMY, 1.61 firmware, if you think it wouldn't work please tell me.

I have retail discs of Kinect Adventures and Kinectimals, can I just insert these in my offline box (LT, BENQ) and update from discs. Then download AC: Brotherhood and update the last step from that? I don't have a flash drive just now so would be easier to do like that

Nope, only AP2.5 games will NEED SS3. All the others can be played as before LT+

ok so i've updated the first 2 updates (i have a benq 1.61IX), and when i tried to pkay AC: B it said "PLAY DVD". so i have updated the third update as well, and still PLAY DVD. should i use wavepatcher and patch it to wave3, or is there somthing wrong with the way i burned the game? tnx a lot.

Yes 1.61 doesnt need patching. At most you may try with the activate (granted the activate you burned isnt actually the faulty one).

You said you tried using an activate boot disc as I suggest. And still the game didnt play.
Now, it might be the game dvd, but it also might be the activate.
Try it out. Get any of your old games, and play it after the activate.
If it works then burn the new NFS and try that.

I would really like some explanation on how SS3 works.

As you said, the new LT+, as released tonight, wont still be able to play ACB or NFSHP, because it does not support SS3. (I mean by updating dash without your exploit, and using the new LT+). How then, we will be able to play these new games? Wait for some other firmware update, special games rips or patches for them, like wave reducer?

While on the other hand, with your exploit done, we can play these AP2 games (even with old iXtreme 1.5), without bothering about SS3. Why this time the SS3 is canceled?

I might sound noobish, but could you explain this.

1) No, this is another method that has a similar rationale behind, but a different way to achieve it.
You dont need to care about any HD or saturating the memory. Granted you have a 9199 or earlier dash, you just need to follow the 3 updates (4, if you start from an 8XXXX dash), you'll end up with the kinect dash and no AP2.5. So you're good to go with any game.

2) It's perfectly ok to use the ACB disc afterwards

I just have three quick questions (apologies if they have already been answered):

1. Can I flash to LT+ and use your method to update my dashboard?

2. Does this bypass method work on the Kinect and current Kinect games? I am thinking about buying the Kinect and wanted to check this beforehand.

3. I dont use live, so not too bothered about SS3. But from what I understand, if the game doesnt have SS3, LT+ wont boot it - but your method will? But your method runs on the dash before Kinect's dashboard so does that mean I can't play Kinect games?

Firstly, thanks for the prompt response. Once I finished your method, I wont be prompted to install a new update from any current Kinect games will i?

Secondly - is there an order we are meant to follow when updating to LT+?

For example, I have a BenQ flashed to ixtreme 1.41 - I patch my games down using ppf o matic. Am I able to flash straight to LT+?

That brings me to my final question; should I flash to LT+ first or follow your method first? Or is there no difference which order this is done in.

Just updated and its all good. ACB runs without asking for an update and secdata is still clean, tested profile on another 9199 console to confirm clean.

For anyones interest I used the two updates from the first tut and for the third used an unpatched ACB disc.

I updated with the hard drive in but when taken out and ACB is run it asks for the update again.

Now, will updating the internal memory using ACB ruin the exploit?

As for any particular order, I dont think there's any. They are 2 different things.
Basically you are passing from an AP2.5-less dash (9199) to another AP2.5-less dash (kinect beta), and you're flashing a new customized fw (LT+) that will respond to AP2.5, but you wont have actually any AP2.5 to respond to. So no, I dont think it's relevant which one you start first, whether flashing or dash updating.

Also, it might happen that some kinect games ask you for an update, you can accept, none of those out so far have a dash update later than this final beta.

Unfortunately LT+ is the only way to go on live and use backup AP2.5.

Any banned machines though, this method is perfect until MS update the update disc.

Unfortunately no. Each and every game has it's own set of SS3 data...

C4eva said his team is working on the 0800 fw, let's just hope it'll be out soon and people will be able to rip with an already packed SS3 in it.

Im happy you had faith, my stomach was in knots lol

As for the internal memory I was referring to I meant the on-board storage with the jaspers.

When NXE came out I flashed the internal memory so that the console would work with or without a HDD and not ask for any updates.

If I now do the same using ACB would that ruin the exploit?

My goal is to get the console working with and without a HDD and still be able to bypass AP25.

Without the HDD ACB asks to update again (190mb) and will flash that to the internal storage.

Ill be getting LT+ done but not for another few weeks.

I risked it! But all is ok

It wsant just my stomach in knots this time!

This is my only console at the mo so hoping this would work till my new jtag arrives and dont have access to a live box to do any recovering or such.

I had 224mb free before the ACB update from the disc and 159mb after so it seems to have only installed the needed files rather than full 190mb update from scratch.

Everything runs now with or without HDD and secdata is clean every time and confirmed on another 9199

Strangely though there was no update files on the HDD when I checked before updating the internal memory.

I was afraid that installing from ACB disc would override the previous USB updates and do a fresh, full install of kinect including AP25 but it doesn't seem to

Just for clarity and anybody else reading, here was my steps to confirm:

Starting from a 9199 flashed to the internal memory and HDD attached, NXE runs with no update prompts when HDD is removed (basically a full 9199 flash to internal)

1) UPDATE-KINECT-ADVENTURES
2) UPDATE-KINECT-ANIMALS
3) Update using unpatched ACB disc
4) check secdata
5) Load ACB on a live enabled profile
6) check secdata
7) Take off HDD and load ACB
8) Accept ACB update
9) check secdata
10) confirmed no corruption on another 9199

I just wanted to say thanks again.
Followed the instructions on the first page.
AC:B, NFS HP work.
I decided to just burn the games, no patching or wave injection.
I DID have to burn an Activation ISO, found @ Abgx360.net to get AC:b and NFS HP working.
I have Benq 1.61 ( never had to use one shot activation before but its necessary for the new AP2.5 games)

To be even extra safe, couldn't one just also add the NAND write-protect switch mod to their xbox and have it on when attempting to boot AP2.5 games? Let's say for instance that someone has the new dashboard update with AP2.5 and accidentally boots an AP2.5 and gets an unreadable disc error. If the NAND write-protect switch was on, then there is not way for xval getting changed to "Failed AP25 Challenge" right? Then all that person would have to do is reset the console and secdata would remain clean and that failed AP2.5 boot attempt never existed?

Let me know if my theory is wrong.

hey thanks for sharing this. i've done it, and it seems to work. i patched ac:b to wave 3, since im on 1.51, but im having some issues.

the game launches without my USB stick in (use it as memory unit) not saying it has to update, but with it in, it has to. i then get the disc read error since i patched the game to wave 3.

however, i tried manually updating my 360 with the update given in the OP from the acb disc, but my 360 wont recognize the update when its on the usb stick. just boots like nothings there.

my avatars are still black, leading my to believe i am still on the regular firmware, not the beta from the acb disc.

maybe im missing something. should i just burn the game again without patching it, then update with the unpatched disc, then use the patched one since ill then be updated?

I have a liteon with i think 1.61 flashed (think its the one with built in activate.iso). haven't ever had a game that won't boot. not concerned about online, not banned, just never ever play online and have no desire to.

based on my reading, i guess i don't really need LT+? i don't flash on my own, i take it to a guy but i just tried NFSHP, fable III and ASB and they all work fine... i don't totally understand what ss3 is all about but i guess since i can play all current games, i don't really need LT+ for now? In fact i think I don't want it because i believe its a bit more restrictive (rightfully so for online gamers) but for me i imagine i'll need to patch games etc just to get them running for offline play?

Didnt wait for a reply for step 4 version, or the version once going through all the steps.

Anyways tried a few kinect games and they all come up with a white background with xbox symbol still, which it also did with dash 9199. AC:B does the same thing as well. So in other words the kinect games don't launch and it just sits there.

Fable 3 still works

NFSHP doesn't work either.

Noticed when i hit the a button on the controller it pops up the buttons for playing a dvd and when i hit play it says reading media then just sits there.

Do I need a kinect controller connected for this to work or for the kinect games to launch.

BTW i double-checked the burned games in abgx and they tested ok. Also I last remember being at fw 1.61 on a liteon drive.

Well i figured it out, plus I remember seeing a post earlier in the effect of using the wave boot cd.

If you are getting the white background and the xbox symbol then most likely the fw can't handle the wave 9 or so unless you're updated past 1.61 on the dvd fw.

I got nfshp and a couple kinect games launched after i booted from the wave cd then inserted the game.

Need to figure out again on how to do the fw update since its been quite awhile.

Also I noticed when doing the update from step 3 then step 4 the dash version stays at the same version which is 2.0.12416.0.... is that supposed to be the case?

im using 1.51 and have always used waves patcher 360 to take everything down to wave 3.. but the program doesn't want anything to do with the ap 2.5 disk.

It happens to consoles not to recognize USB updates now and then. In this case, burn a CD or a DVD with the update in it, and feed it to the console (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I played AC:B for a couple of days with this exploit. Today, I decided to flash my console with new LT+. Before flashing, I thought it would be a good idea to update dash offline with the most recent version. I successfully updated, but then I noticed that I forgot the back-up copy of AC:B on the tray. I didn't run the game, but the title picture of the game appeared on my dashboard. So, this means I kept an AP2.5 game on the tray for a while while the most recent dashboard was loaded. Now, I am concerned about being flagged. Anyone have any idea? Which one gets you flagged? Running the AP2.5 game or even inserting it to the tray?

2 questions: ive got a benq instead of the original drive (liteon), in order to get the new lt+ to work i may not have a spoofed drive, but if i just flash my benq drive and leave my dash as it is now according to this wonderful tut would the games still work?

other q: what if a bought another drive lite on like the original and leave my dash as it is(according to the tut) can i still play the games like i do now (with iextreme1.6 + activate disc) but without activate disc in other words just play without the patching and stuff

I used to play offline with ixtreme 1.5 and 3rd wave patcher since about 2 years without any problem. Now I have the same problems with AP 2.5. as averybody of us.

Yes, at the end you obtain the final beta kinect dash, just 1 step from the full kinect dash.

I'm not following you... Fall out Ne Vegas is wave 6... you can play it on any iXtreme, and if you need to wave patch it down, you can, as with any game...

I was just inside the tray. I didn't attempt to play it. I checked my status with XVAl. It says "Data Sector is Clean". But I though that my flag status would change once I logged in Xbox Live after flashing with LT+.

Oh alright. Yes, you can download the game patches and patch them off line. There're sites where to get them, and then an easy procedure you have to follow, using a usb flash memory.
You need a pc program called xtaf gui.
Launch it, open the flash memory from there, copy the game patch into the cache folder you'll find there.
Put the usb flash memory in you console.
Turn it on.

Not knowing what iXtreme customized fw you have in your console it's difficult to know if you need to patch games to a lesser wave. If you wanna try to see if they work on your spoofed drive, you can always try using an activate.iso disc (if you've got an iXtreme 1.6 or 1.61) you can patch them to wave 3 or 2 (if you've got an iXtreme 1.1 to 1.51), or if you've got an LT, then you can try with the unpatched copies.
If any of that doesnt work, then you just can play them with drive only a spoofed as hitachi.

So i tried a bunch of things to get it working to no avail.

My dash was updated through xblive couple of weeks ago..

tried iXtreme 1.51, then 1.6 and then 1.61, with and without activate. iso.

XBox did recognized the game as AC:B but got "unreadable disc" when trying to play. (after putting the activate.iso).

i tried LT+ as well but did not work either.

Will LT+ and patching the game with ( http://www.ixtreme.net/lt-lite-touch-download/topic6103.html ) work?

As for LT+, are you SURE you flashed your XBOX with LT+?
In order to do so, you have to extract the DVD drive from your XBOX, connect it to the PC via SATA port and then overwrite the DRIVE fw with the LT+ customized FW.
If you didnt do that, you didnt try LT+.
If you ACTUALLY did (or had someone) flash your Xbox with LT+, then it WILL work. Provided that you run the game iso in ABGX360 in order to patch into it the SS3 file, that is.

Good then you just need to patch the SS3 in.
If you run the iso through ABGX 1.0.4 (new version) it will patch it for you.
And remembder: NO AP2.5 protected game, without the SS3 patched in, will play on LT+.

You dont need to use ppfomatic anymore. Just the new ABGX.
The link you posted has the old version, basically the setting are the same, just tick Verify if Stealth Passes and Check/Fix Video Padding (in option).

hm, it recognizes it as a mixed media disc. could it be im already updated to the beta? i have my 360 hooked to my monitor, and while it turned on with the update on the USB the first time, i had it switched to my computer. but then again, i didnt press an accept to update or anything. my system firmware doesnt say beta or anything in the settings.

the only annoying this is i have to remove my USB stick before starting a game and then plugging it back in once it starts... that way i avoid the update prompt...

I also want to confirm issues using this method and getting the 3rd final beta patch on there.

I've got a benq with LT+ on it and wanted to flash to the AP2.5less dash anyway. After step 2, my system no longer will take updates from a burned CD or a USB drive (tried 2 burns and 2 different flash drives). Have the systemupdate folder in the root and in the right place of course.

I have a burn of the official dash I might try if I get impatient, to see if that will take the update, or if it now forces me to live to get it. There seems to be some sort of bug after update #2 (KINECT ANIMALS) that does not allow the system to take an update from a USB or a CD.

Those who had issues with USB after the 2nd update, would love to know what you used to burn and what type of media (CD or DVD) to get the system to take the update off disc. I can't get it to go no matter what. Disc shows as mixed media disc in the dash and the xbox refuses to load it at boot as it should with a disc update.

EDIT - The fix is to make sure you have your hard drive or internal storage plugged in and available. The update is large and needs a place to extract to. Makes sense now. Not sure if the final is that way but the beta is.

To all having problems with the last update:
A dvd or a CD instead of the Flash Memory stick solved the problem of not recognizing it.
You also need to have about 200mb free in order to install it, cause it actually takes up quite some room, since it carries all the avatar data.
If you have iXteme 1.6, 1.6.1 or LT flashed, instead of using the 3 dash update, you can use directly an AP2.5 wave-unpatched game to get the update from: pop in the game, and when asked, update. You need the activate disc for that (LT doesnt).

If you have LT+, you still can get the update from the disc, just remember to patch it with SS3 before burning it.

As FixItOrModIt said, hold the sync botton down till the whole booting process is over:

1 With the console off, press and hold the sync up button (the small one)
2 While holding the sync button press the power button to turn on the console
3 Continue to hold the sync button until the Console has booted up completely.

During the boot process the console should clear any failed updates, allowing you to use it normally.

OK, just want to check what to do now.

I ran the three updates in order (the 100MB one went really fast - is this normal?). So I have a Benq on 1.6 iXtreme. I just need to use PPF-o-matic now to patch any new games and they should boot up fine?

My mate followed the three updates and he still gets Play DVD when trying to boot AC:B and he's using a Sammy...

It's faster (anche cheaper). If you see the update doesnt take because the flash drive isnt recognized, then you can use CDs or DVDs.

You're welcome.
It isnt matter of being safer. A SS3 patched iso is NECESSARY if you're using LT+ with a protected game. That's because LT+ wont let you play any game that's AP2.5 protected and it's missing the SS3. The SS3 contains the data necessary to overcome the challenges AP2.5 protection will present to your console.

If you're using this method, AP2.5 wont be installed, so you dont really need to SS3 patch the iso. If you did, it wouldnt be any bit safer with this dash. BUT I suggest you do patch them, because once you decide to go with LT+, you wont have to reburn any game.

I have something weird just happened.

I updated as follows:

2.UPDATE-KINECT-ANIMALS
3.20124160_BETA

After that i connected to xbox live and i got an updated pop up, requesting me to update my xbox or i wont be able to use xbox live.
I declined of course...

Any idea? Is it something new? Or maybe i just need to update 4th time with Assassins Creed Brotherhood disk?

I have a jtagged xbox running 9199 at the moment.

I downloaded the kinect adventures update and placed it on a usb drive and booted... when the progress bar was about 90% at the end it gave an error saying 'cannot process update' or something like that.

Then I burned to a cd. This time it said 'disc is unreadable', at the same spot that the usb update failed.

Any ideas?

Hey, QUICK question. I've been out of the loop for a while. I have iXtreme LT 1.1 BenQ. I haven't been on xbox live since this summer.

To play assassins creed brotherhood and still be able to eventually get on live in the future, what do I need to do? Upgrade to LT+ and do the dash upgrade exploit? Or can I just keep my existing fw and do the dash upgrade exploit on here I plan to play it offline.

This may be answered somewhere else, but I have been trying for 4 hours to see if I can figure a workaround to this. Any help anyone could give would be appreciated. I have two xbox's (one banned and one not). I tried to connect the Kinect to the banned console and proceeded to install the new dashboard update. It seems as if the update took, but it keeps saying that I need an update for the Kinect sensor. This banned console has old firmware on it that can only play wave 3 and lower (if I want to play newer games i use ppf to burn the newer games). Anyway, to make a long story short, is there anything I can do to update my banned console to be able to use the kinect?

Been lurking for a while now but I've got a question about this method.

1)The downloadlinks in first post are down... anyone else got the files hosted somewhere else?

2)I bought a banned xbox 6months (give or take) ago and it had LT firmware on it (no clue which version, there a way to check this? Seller said back then it was the latest version) Anyway, I can play fable 3/black ops etc, no problem.

If I check my dashboard it says "2.0.8955.0".

is it wise to update using this method? Or will it simply not work? I haven't updated to kinect dash yet etc.

One very last question: I got the latest abgx360 release now. So all I do is lvl 2 fix, and let abgx check the file and let it fix the file if needed, right?

I just checked nfshp with it and it had a "blank replay 25 sector", so it automatically fixed it and now everything is alright. This is required yeah?

As long as it's not the online update with the full kinect dash, you should be ok.

Go to the Systm Setting, access 'memory' in the system blade, and then highlight the hard drive. Now press: X, X, LB, RB, X, X. The following message should appear: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?". Confirm, and you should initiate maintenance, so the hard drive's cache will be cleared.
Now you could either try again, or better you could burn a CD with the update (even a re-writable one) and feed it to the Xbox.

Hi to all I am new of the forum and before to make something wrong I wanted some explanations on the procedure if it is possible.
I have a XBOX 360 Elites modified universal (model JASPER) HD 120GB Reader LITE ON with FLASH BIOS Firmware iXTREME ver. 1.61 purchased last Xmas.
I have never updated the dash because I don't have the connection live and I don't want to do it for the future.
I have intention to buy the kinect and I want to know if I make this procedure to update to the dash beta the copies of backup of the Kinect games, they work without problems?
And the other copies of backup I need to patch them (for now games always started without any patch and without activate iso inclusive fable 3)?

Hello to everyone!
I am trying to inform myself about AP 2.5 checks because I want play to backup of ACB, I think that Anthares2k's method is interesting and I would like to ask some things.

I changed native Liteon drive with Sammy MS28 on which I have dualmod HW (1st eeprom with original FW, 2nd eeprom with FW Xtreme 5.3B). I decided to put Xtreme FW in order to not update in future at wave changing and also because I am not very interested to Live (having dual mod, I can choose FW before turning on the console). At now I checked my console with Xval and it's not banned (I was sure in it because I have never gone to Xlive with non stealth backup games or with FW hacked enabled). At now, I have always used all backup games with different waves without patching or using activate.iso, but only updating console when requested from game.

Now I ask:
1) Can Anthares2k's method work with my hacked dvd drive? Maybe someone knows this because he has already tested

2) If it works fine, has the ACB backup to be patched or is it necessary to use activate.iso? I don't think so because, if I understood good, FW Xtreme doesn't check the type of wave.

I don't want to risk a flag on my console....

Can someone confirm these doubts?

Just registered to tell Anthares2k how grateful I am! I followed all the steps and it works like a charm. I tried to run AC Brotherhood and I had no problem installing it on the HD. And of course the game plays just fine.
I have a Liteon drive and the LT Firmware.

I just carried out the updates on a XBox 360 with ixtreme 1.4 (i believe). I tried the Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (Complex) which I had ran through the abgx360 1.4 and burned @ 2.4x. All I get is "Play DVD" option. Should I reburn without going through abgx360? ANy help would be very much appreciated.

That's weird because COD: Black Ops works perfectly fine. So it could be that the flash is ixtreme LT? So if it is LT then where do I go from here? If I still need to patch to wave 3 how do I do that exactly.

It took a while to receive the activation e-mail so I can post messages in the board but I see you are see quite active on this board and it shouldn't be a problem.

First of all I want to thank you for presenting this method and for offering support. (and all the others who have helped others here).

And now for the question:
I have an Arcade series I think (it's manufactured in 08 - 2009) and it has a Sammy spoofed as a LiteOn with iextreme 1.61 (I think.. not so sure about that..) And this method worked for me almost perfectly.
Unfortunately I have to use the activate.iso dvd to play ACB (I haven't tried any other AP2.5 game... I will probably try Fable III after this).

I wanted to ask you if there is a way to NOT use the activate.iso dvd... I mean I'm not sure what it does but I it's a bit stresful to change dvd's all the time (it's ok though as I can still play the game

I have even installed it on my console HDD).

I have used wavepacther latest version 2.1.2 beta I think to change the level 9 of the game to level 3...(or 4 can't remember exactly and I'm not home to put the DVD in abgx for a check). and still no luck. I still have to use activate.iso for THIS game. (I can play any other NON AP2.5 DVD with no problem... but for this I have to use activate.iso).

So those were the facts and now the question per se.
Is there any way to NOT use activate.iso (as I didn't have to use it until now... I could play all the backups directly burned with ImgBrn). And if yes what should I do? Should I change the wave to level 2... or 1? Will that matter? I'm not sure what activate.iso does but from what I have read until now it has something to do with the wave of the game.

If it's not possible I will still use it like I did till now

so it won't be a problem, but I was just curious if it is possible.

i've got 2 consoles that i play offline, and i went on live just for the system updates (much before reading this thread). anyway, i'm guessing that installed the full new kinect dash? my question is, and sorry for not reading all 19 pages of this thread, will the console be fine offline? it won't corrupt my profiles or prevent some games from being played?

both consoles have toshiba samsung drives with xtreme 5.2a (because it plays pretty much everything).

Glad it worked. As for the activate, it seems to be a necessary evil for those with 1.6 and 1.61.
I would have told you to downgrade the wave, but if you've already tried the 360 Wave Patcher by Soul Heaven (latest version being 2.1.x) and it didnt work, then you have no other choice but using the activate disk.

They're 2 different things:
Patching (SS3) the game with ppf-o-matic isnt necessary anymore, since the new abgx 1.0.4 does that for you on checkup (just set autofix level 3). And SS3 patching is only required to play AP2.5 games on LT+. This method does not require it (although I suggest it because you always should check a game with abgx before burning it, and because you wont have to download and burn it again when when you decide to go with LT+).

You just need to download the file and put it in a usb memory stick.
If you prefer, and you've got an iXtreme 1.6, 1.61 or LT, you may pop in your console a copy of your ACB and update from there instead of downloading the file here. (Just remember you need the activate disk for 1.6 and 1,61. A wave patched game wont work.

Got it!! I can confirm that my Samsung MS28 spoofed (Liteon 74850 as original) with xtreme 5.3b work with ACB ( I will try other titles later ). I checked again with Xval and I am not flagged after booying and playing ACB.

My dashboard was a version previous 2.0. 9199. I used method as following:
1) I updated my dashboard to 2.0.9199
2) I used first pack update --> dashboard became 2.012413
3) I used second pack update --> dashboard became 2.0.12416
4) I used third pack update--> dashboard again 2.0.12416
5) I burnt ACB on Verbatim MKM003 with Imgburn at 2X without patching before file .iso

Now I have a question bcos I have another console with dashboard 2.0.12413 (version updated when Kinekt device was linked in the first time).

Can I apply method starting from second pack? Will it work or is it necessay starting only from dashboard 2.0.9199 ??

Hi, i followed your directions exactly with a flash drive but i have a problem when i try to play NFSHP it just says "Play DVD", i dont have problem with any other games only with AP2.5 games. And i think im with iXtreme 1.61 firmware so do i need Active.iso ?

This works. Just tried this myself with my Feb 2008 Falcon, which had a BenQ, but I replaced it with an unspoofed Samsung ms28 w/xtreme5.2 'bout 6 months ago. Working great.

With that said. OMFG, what the hell is wrong with MS approving this ugly ass mess. Shit, I still think the original blades interface was the best and hated NXE, but now I'm looking back at NXE and really missing it for being so much nicer then this. I mean, really. Really?! Big old non transparent harsly square white windows. Thought I was turning on my 360, not booting up Windows 3.1. The guy who came up with this needs to get a seeing eye dog. This shit so ugly, my avatar hung itself with one of the 'oh so manly' flying ribbons from the opening animation sequence. I dunno, what else can I say. It's f'in sad.

hi i wonder if anyone can help me i have just had my little lads xbox flashed its a 2009 model so needed the solder hack on it i have just tried to do a update from a need for speed hot persuit game but when i try to load the game up the drive wont open then i turn it off then back on again and get the e64 error code my drive was supposed to be flashed with lt+ the newest version thats just come out all other games work ok other backups and kinect any ideas anyone ?????????

Hi I have a lite-on with Ixtreme 1.6 and my dashboard is 2.0.9199.0. I`m trying to play NFS Hot Pursuit. I`m planning to do all the three updates on the first page and patch the game to wave 3 using wave patcher 2.1.2. My question is should I patch the game to lower wave (WAVE 3) or should I leave it exactly like it is and play the game using activate.iso. Do i need to use abgx for anything related to this?

Heres my delima.

I followed the steps and played "NFS HP' and ACBHOOD. When I followed the steps I had my 20GB Hard drive connected to the xbox. I used all the links provided to download the 3 necessary files that are needed.

However, last week I went out of town to visit some family and I brought my xbox with me. Somewhere along the line my 20GB hard drive that was attached to the system was removed from the xbox and gone (dont know how it happened but im not sweating that). HOWEVER, now im back home and im attempting to play NFS and ACB but when I put the disks in the tray the kinect dash board identifies the disk as being the actual game and all but when I start the game it requires an update.... I never had this problem when I had the hard drive so im assuming some update was stored on the hard drive itself. I just want to check and make sure that It is safe to update as it is not allowing me to play the game without doing so. I do not have access to a computer at the moment to update to the lt plus so please advice if it is safe to perform the update.

ok.. I'm new to most of this - let me explain where i stand and see if there is any help.

I wanted to play a backup copy of Need For Speed but the system said i needed the new dashboard.

I took my hard drive off of my other xbox and put it on my "banned console" and the dashboard looked like it updated to the latest version.

i ran the game through abg360 adn also added the ppf patch.

each time i try to run the disc now i get unable to read disc.

What am i doing wrong and is there a way to fix the issue? I was using a wave 4 start up disc.

PLEASE HELP!!

I'm glad everything went fine with the updates and AP2.5 games.
As for the dashboard issue, the one you end up with after this exploit is a beta version of the new kinect dash. That means that you dont need any more updates in order to play any of the games currently out. It is possible that M$ might unleash a mandatory update (as it happened with the kinect dash, which was a mandatory step when you inserted a wave 7,8 or 9 wave) in order to play future games. So far so good, but in time M$ might release some wave 10 or whatever, that will need a new dash in order to play.

ive got an xbox with benq vad 6038 drive which was flashed 3 years back with ixtreme v1.1 ,
my dashboard is 2.012416.0 can i use the above exploit to paly ,,the new backup games ,,
black ops ,nfshp ,acbh
and old games like tom clancys conviction ,fallout vegas ,,
i dont go on live ,the xbox has been repaired by xbox for 3 rrod and put a new warranty seal ,the warranty will exspire in march 2011 ,so dont want to open the xbox

from most of the forums i have read users say that those who
who ever went from 9199 to 2.0.12416.0(using asssasin)
the 3 games didnt work.

and those who went from 9199 to 2.0.12611.0(newest)
these 3 games didnt work

only those who played kinect adventures and then kinect animals and finally assasins creed.
these 3 games worked.
harcore gamers were out of luck,but casual player who brought kinect were rewarded

i am assuming the ap2.5 check is also in the assasins's creed update,
but running the 2 kinect games,kinda gliched it or something.

maybe if anyone who has an easy acess to update lt+ and before upgrading their firmware
on their offline banned console,
should at least try the newest update 2.0.12611.0 from xbox.com or live,
after following the exact order as your post.
so as to let us know if the glitch still exists ,before were are forced to update to wave 10

It will work on yours too, provided you still have the old dash and possibly you'll need the activate disk for some AP2.5 games.

Hi Guys i have been searching for solution to play Assassins Creed Brotherhood. I have accidentally updated my console to 2.0.12611.0 through USB from MS Site. And i know the AP 2.5 protection is enabled.
Searching whole internet for lot of different solutions but didnt find any.......

I have Lite-On drive of 7-Series and iXtreme 1.5. And when i have taken the my xbox to mod for LT+ he said nothing was working u cannot update it to LT+. He has tried but ended up with nothing is working...
I m tryin n tryin hoping that any sol might be there to patch or fix or bypass AP2.5 somehow... but dont know...
i have extracted the iso modified the default.xex for AP2.5 removal but im unable to re-built back the xbox 360 iso again...
COuld anyone help me out...
or i need to get a new 360 which is very very much painful............

Dude i really want to get this right. (your 3 links are down, but i can download it from somewhere else and install them in that order). Here goes my situation: I have an elite with ixtreme LT FW with the 9199 dashboard version. I can play fable 3 perfectly fine but as you are saying NFS and ACB will force me to update to 12611.0 but I haven't tried them yet. My only fear is if the updates i found in other sources don't work, so can i do it with those versions from other sites or do i have to do it with your 3 files?

ps: i'm asking this because i see several versions with differente sizes and some say "update with avatars" and i don't really know if those will works as yours do

As for your problem, there's a non-stealth chip you can put in your console, as well as some soldering and switch you could on your console in order to bypass non-stealthly your Xbox

I dont know if they ship to India. The producer is Librasoft (France). I dont see why they shouldnt ship to your country. Contact them on their site.

Dead Space 2 works fine with this method, considered that even if DS2 had AP2.5 (which it doesnt), this
dash would bypass it. Also, DS2 doesnt have any mandatory update of the dash.

I'm running ixtreme 1.3 or 1.4 (not sure). I updated the dashboard in the sequence provided, and all went well. Old rips still work fine.

I then took CoD:BO, ran it through the lastest ABGx and it was deemed fine. Then I ran 360 wave patcher to go down to wave 2, and the game boots and runs happily enough

At some point I will open my xbox again and maybe install the executer blaster thingy to make updates easier - until that day - this does the job

I have an XBox360 that originally had an Hitachi drive (unsure of version) which broke and was replaced with a Benq flashed with iXtreme LT.

I followed the procedure detailed on page 1 a couple of months ago so that backups of NFS Hot Pursuit and ACB would work.

I've finally got it updated with LT+ and updated the dash to the latest version 2.0.12625 this morning.

To check that LT+ was working I tried a backup of Fable III which included the AP2.5 data, which worked.

I then tried backups of NFS Hot Pursuit, ACB, Halo Reach, COD Black Ops & COD Modern Warfare 2, all of which had no AP2.5 data on the disc, and they all worked! I thought that they shouldn't, so I'm a little bit puzzled.

Is the reason they're working because I originally had an Hitachi drive that couldn't do AP2.5 ?, so it's not checking. Or has it something to do with following the Kinect Adventures/Kinectimals procedure ?

I remember reading that you couldn't replace a Benq with an Hitachi or a Samsung to get around the Ap2.5 checks because the XBox would think you had a Benq and try the AP2.5 check and fail.

Any help would be gratefully received.

now ill explain everything that happened to my xbox

first i wanted to play NFS hot pursuit so i downloaded the game and burned it
when i tried it, it wanted me to update dashboard. i didnt know how it could cuz i was banned from
xbox live long ago, so anyway i accepted it and later when i tried the game it said disc unreadable!!

later i searched over the internet til i found out in this site that i need to have the original drive in my xbox
and later flash it to lt v1.0 or lt+ or whatever my drive supports.

if i change back to the original and flash it to any of the two firmwares that my drive supports,
will i be able to play the game even if i already updated to latest dash before i flashed it??

i know that the best firmware for the sammy is lt v1.0 and for benq and liteon is lt+.
im not sure about the hitachi

i really need help cuz if hot pursuit doesnt work then it means i cant play any of the new games

Hello, I've been out of the loop since Vanquish & that new Castlevania game on the 360. How do I play MVC3? I use to patch my wave 4 games into 2 so my flash can play them, but from my limited understanding the new games won't work with this method now? I just got Marvel vs Capcom 3 and was wondering what would be the proper way to play this on a banned xbox. Do I need a new patcher? Kinect update? etc.? I just patched with an old wave patcher to 2 will it work? Do new games force an update as soon as you put in the disc?

In your case, I assume you still have the older dashboard, which wont allow you to play also the late wave 7,8 and 9.
Use this exploit and you'll be fine downgrading their waves as you've always done.

I've read this post with interest and I'm ready to try this, just wanted to check 2 things with you first please.

I have an old dash that will work.

I think my current drive flash is 1.61 I know at the moment I don't have to use a boot disc to play any game.

I understand the procedure so I will follow the upgrade steps as you have shown.

I don't currently have AC/B or NFS so I've downloaded the dash updates on page 18, but the update says it is a beta dash and I'm worried this won't for me, I'm confused if that file is for old drive flash's?

Assuming it isn't and you tell me it is ok to apply, does this mean I will now need to use a boot disc being on 1.61 to get these new games to work or am I ok to just put the disc in and play like I currently do?

Hope that makes sense, looking forward to trying it.

a certain new fps has a mandatory update on the disc.
is it true that if i update i can no longer play ap 2.5 games? (was able to play them because of your trick).
i have a lite-on with - i think - 1.61 no stealth firmware.

No, it wouldnt work because it's a wave 10 game and it requires the last 12625 dash (built in in the disk. In order to play it, it will require you to accept the update before).

It still wont.
It will ask you for the new dash just the same. And the new dash will overwrite the beta dash you've been installing with this exploit. So, this game will play, since it's AP2.5 free, but all those that are not, won't work anymore.

However, did I stump everyone with this one?

What are our options at this point? Is MLB 2K11 a legitimate 2.5 game?? It displays the game icon when I put it in the drive and it seems to read it fine when I start to launch it but the launch gets interrupted with a pop up that says my game needs a console update to play the game....Is that the typical issue right now?

Therefore, it will be critical for people to stay updated on the firmware front while also making sure the game ISO's are properly patched through ABGX360.

It's time to update your firmware or you won't be able to play most of the good new games...

Uradodo, thanks for the summary in plain english terms....I kind of poked around after my post and pretty much figured this out on my own.

Let me ask you this...since upgrading my 360 isnt easy for me (I have to contact someone and play the wait game with them at their convenience) If I do this, what is stopping MS to release some security measure in their next dashboard updates that will just also render LT 1.1 useless for backups as well?

Or do you think LT 1.1 will have a long lifespan?

Im actually thinking about doing the firmware upgrade myself but there seems to be too many variables involved that will brick my xbox if I dont have every single base covered...is that correct or are there measures I can take that will allow me a bit more wiggle room for mistakes when learning how to upgrade my own firmware?

Is there a foolproof dummy guide or something that makes it much more simple?....Is there a certain method I could use to ensure that I dont brick my 360 if I miss a step or make a mistake? I'd love to do it, but I just feel a bit intimidated and kind of out of the loop since up till today, I still was simply patching my ISOs with PFF-O-Matic 1.5 wave files on my BenQ iXtreme 1.51 firmware drive.

what do you suggest?

First off, thank you for all the hard work and posting the many relies. You guys rock and really help the Xbox community.

My issue is this. I have the 1.61 firmware and use an activation disc to play games. Recently I tries CO2 Black ops and it failed to load even with the boot disc. I thought, maybe update the console?? Stupid me for not reading the posts here.

So of course I get the disk cannot be read error....

I understand this fix cannot be applied to the newest console version, but what about if I changed Xbx hDD? I currently have a 20Gig HDD and was thinking of upgrading to 250GB. I assume I would then be able to run the patches here and then transfer all my data which is mostly Avatars and saved games. Can anyone tell me if this will work?

Would the other option be updating to LT+1.1? I have never done FW upgrades myself so am unsure what is involved or what I need. Can anyone provide me with a step by step? Or a link to one...

BTW to upgrade the firmware here in AUS at a shop is around 70 dollars. Thats the same price as a 250gig HDD for the Xbox, hence my thinking.

Hello i have a problem I had the old dashboard when i updated the kinect and kinect animals and the asscb update i could play the game for several hours the next day i insert dragon age 2 it sad update required to play this game so i updated because like you said i can play every game no matter what so when i did that i played again asscb and when the game seems to start it comes back to dashboard and says in a pop up "UNRECOGNIZED DISC'' CONTACT XBOX SUPPORT

Basically i patch all my games to wave 3 using "360 Waves patcher" and all games work including Black ops, Marvel vs capcom, Fight Night round 4 etc... Obviously Assasins creed brotherhood and nfs hot pursuit dont work because they have AP2.5

Anyway, so far i have a problem with 2 games ,thats BULLETSTORM and CRYSIS 2, i patch the games to wave 3 and when i insert into the xbox the game asks for a Dashboard upate and if i decline the game quits, i guess these games require the new Kinect dashboard right?

So in order to play Crysis 2 and Bulletstorm, i need to update my Dashboard to the Kinect dashboard using the method posted in the first post of this thread?

All my previous burned games will work fine and then the new games such as crysis 2 and bulletstorm will load or they will still require a dashboard update?

I've not made any changes to my system since getting CoD:BO to work. I now try to make a backup of LA.Noire, and using the same steps are above, it doesn't work.

Instead, on boot, it give an error trying to make an update.

I used this update a few months ago for Kinect and it worked perfect until recently when new releases required a dashboard update. I was not willing to do that initially, afraid I would no longer be able to play. I have a Hitachi 78/79 using iXtreme 1.51. I just updated to the newest dashboard 13146 because I was going to flash it again to LT+ 1.1. After updating the dashboard, my drive was NOT flashed and I can play everything just as before and I can also play the newest releases. FYI for anyone with a similar console.
