Hi all,
I have few questions relating to in xbox360 modding. I´m rather new with these and I´ve tried to look the threads through, but could somebody please explain shortly the following questions.
I bought 360 with NME-chip inside and can I safely use Live (with orginals) and play backups (offline) with by 360 AFTER I update with the new "kinetic" update (1st of November)?
Can I play Fable 3 backup (again offline) without being banned from Live with the new update and is the backup rendered useless after the update? Can I then play the orginal Fable III in Live and offline?
Again. I´m using NME-chip and not flashed firmware. Thanks beforehand!

In what kind of drive the nme chip is installed and what version nme chip is installed
if its 1.2...don't go on live even though the chip is sleeping or in sleep mode and the original firmware is intact
if its 2.0 you might get away but i really don't recommend going on live with a hardmodded 360
Since its NME,ALL version wave games can load, just patch the ISO into NME format using the NME assosciator

Will Fable 3 (back-up) work with the new live update and with the NME 2.0 modchip? Or will it fail with 2.5 ap check and not start?
-
I would also like to know if playing backups while offline with NME v2 will ban me from going on live with original games?
Will the new AP 2.5 update flag the xbox while offline and ban it when it goes online?

I'm in the same boat...have had a NME 2.0 chip in my Pro Console (Ben-Q Drive) for over 3 years and have never had any issues up to and including backups of Fable 3 and Black Ops. the 3rd wave change and previous dashboard updates didn't affect me either.
I have never played on Live and don't plan to...i would just like confirmation that if i load a game like A.C. Brotherhood which requires the dashboard update apparently, that i will still be able to play my AP.25 backups like Fable 3 afterwards.
From what Dark MOd has said i think i may be alright but i'd just like confirmation because I'd hate to do the update and have it keep me from playing these games.
Thanks in advance.

NME V2 Chip does not work with AP2.5 Games at all but strange thing is I played Assassins Creed 3 on my console with old dashboard but when updated it to the newest one the game stopped working so I guess avoid the system update so that some new games will work.

I installed the update (how were you able to play Ass Creed 3 without installing it as it just asked said I had to update first?), but regardless, after the update, all previous games played the same, however, I could not get AssCreed 3 to play at all.

Contrary to what Maej said...i can confirm that a NME 2.0 modded system (Ben Q drive) will play AP 2.5 games (Fable 3) prior to the dashboard update. I'm still trying to get confirmation, like many others are as to what happens if i install the dashboard update...i don't want to attempt playing AC Brotherhood if it is going to render my backup of Fable 3 useless. If anyone can confirm what will happen to a chipped console after the update it would be much appreciated.

Anyone can play AP2.5 games on 9199 because ap2.5 is not enabled on 9199. If you upgrade, ap2.5 will be enabled and unless NME 2 supports ap2.5 you will no longer be able to play them.

Have you found anything about the new dashboard update and NME 2.0-chip? I have also played Fable 3 without any problems.
Do you know if there´s any possibility to update NME chip? I´ve read that it would be possible, but can´t find any info about it.

I have a nme2.0 chip and was banned on live for a save game...anyways
I played fable3 and black ops with older dash(before kinect) and works fine.
I tried NFS(complex)... updated my dash and got unreadable disk error... fable3 and black ops work fine.
any ideas?

How did it went? Did you update to new dash and did old games work after that (not only ap 2.5 games)?
Has anyone done this with NME chip (see link below)?

Just make things clear (for me). You had NME-chip and you installed the new dashboard update? All the old games worked fine (without ap 2.5 protection) with NME-chip?
Does anybody know, if there is a risk for flagging console when playing old games (prior ap2.5 protection) with new dashboard (+NME) or will it render my back-ups useless?

Any updates on this subject? Wondering if I can play a backup if NFSHP with NME without bricking my console or something. What sucks is this is the first time I've ever had a problem with NMEv2 and when I bought it I remember thinking DVD update-able awesome it's future proof, but now that we need an update there's no one to be found.

Cant be done. Toss the chip in the bin and flash to LT+ and all will be good.
Wont revert the ban your console got for playing an AP2.5 game without LT+ but at least you will be able to play new games again.

Forgive me resurrecting this thread, but has anyone using the NME-360v2 recently applied the Fall 2011 update
and had ALL previous backup discs fail to run?
I was forced to apply a console update by Halo Anniversary last week.
The Dashboard is now 2.0.13599.0 (can't remember the previous time I updated nor what it was)
From that moment on, every one of my old backup discs gives the error "Unrecognized Disc".
All of these games worked fine just prior to the update.
All of them are OLD games, long before XGD3 and AP25.
All originals still work fine.
(Pretty sure it's the update, the odds of it being something else at the very moment that I applied the update
seem rather remote!)
Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.
Ay input would be much appreciated.

The update flashed your drive with the new stock firmware. This also likely borked up the way that thing you call a "modchip" works.
remove it and flash your drive with the latest LT+ 2.0 or wait until LT+ 3.0.

Yep, LT2 or 3 is looking very probable.
Oh well, it was a good run.
BTW I call the thing a "modchip" because gooseberry seemed inappropriate :-)
