Title: Lower Voltage On 360 Thus Reducing Heat

On notebook PCs you can lower the voltage while still keeping the power to increase battery life and reduce heat thus reducing fan noise. On desktops well you overclock and raise voltage to get more power, but 3 RROD arent an issue on desktops.

This may not be the right forum since its not hacking, but if there was an application to do this obviously it would require a jtag machine.

For the notebook i use NHC ie; notebook hardware control. Machine is definitely stable and obviously will provide longer life since the cpu is under less stress.

So basically im throwing an idea out there for a developer to save the lives of several million boxes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Lowering the voltage = lowering the CPU and GPU mhz which will lover the performance. Since games are coded with a certain performance in mind this would likely render most games unplayable.

I'm not saying this is possible for the Xbox 360, but lowering the voltage =/= lower clock speed. Not every CPU/GPU is created exactly the same and keeping the voltage at a specific level that's just enough for one CPU might not be enough for another. So they leave the voltage at a level that leaves plenty of headroom. Undervolting does not affect performance, as it just removes that excess headroom that only wastes energy.
