Title: Error When Writing To Nand
Post by: Siph3r on February 09, 2010, 05:21:00 PM
When writing XBR.bin I get this error: error 202 programming block 175

Is it ok to continue, or do I need to fix it and reflash

Have you checked the dump for bad blocks? What flashconfig did you have when dumping the nand? Is nandpro still able to detect the nand and whats the flashconfig? Are you sure your using the correct xbr version for your 360? We need more detailed info in order to provide any help.

i compared the 2 dumps that I dit - both were exactly the same in total commander

i checked the dump in bad block mover, analysed it and then repositioned bad blocks?

I then followed the instructions for injecting kv into the XBR Falcon, I flashed that onto my Xbox and it doesnt boot up,

So I reflashed my old / original Nand onto the Xbox, and it has power but no picture on the screen. - I have since gone through all of the above and tried flashing XBR onto it again, and the Xbox does not even have any power

i didnt check this at the time, as I didnt realise until I read a different tutorial last night, I dumped the nand 3 times all fine apart from some bad blocks

is there any way I can check now if I go to read the nand or is it too late?

Just read the nand again and nandpro will tell you the flashconfig. And yes its to late but there's no turning back now.

You should recieve this flashconfig 01198010.

I am using this JTAG Method:

Rather than this one:

I have a falcon board - is the first method still ok, and it my JTAG connections were wrong - would I still be able to write XBR onto the Nand?

Jtag wiring has nothing to do with writing to the nand. Anyway you got a correct flashconfig so thats a big +. I havent really got any expierence with bad blocks but i think your trying to write to a bad block. I will back off and let someone help with more expierence. Here a thread discussing your problem http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=697960 Goodluck!

ok thanks very much for your help so far anyway

I have just re-flashed the original NAND onto the Xbox and it boots up for about 3 seconds, and then I get the E79 error , is this normal with an original NAND and JTAG wires?

I am going to try doing the bad blocks manually and then flash XBR onto it again, see how that goes

The jtag wires need to be removed when you've flashed the original back, so its normal your 360 doesnt boot.
