I don't have flux, so I'm just trying to put tiny blobs on the solder points. If flux is absolutely necessary, I'll try to buy some tomorrow. But is there a certain solder that's better than others? I read leaded solder was good.
Also, I'm kind of confused about the ground points.
This is the image I'm using:
Do I just join both ground points to pin 18 on the connector?

EDIT: Dang, it's still not sticking. It looks like it is, but if I barely touch it with my finger, it sticks to my finger. What really confuses me is I got the diode wired from J2D2 to DB1F1, along with making the DB25 connector with all the resistors, but I can't get them to stick to the board.
EDIT 2: Did a google search and supposedly silver solder is better than rosin core. I'm pretty sure I have rosin core since I got it at Harbor Freight. I don't think they even had silver solder lol. I'll see if I can find some silver solder tomorrow and hope for the best.

I'm still missing a couple wires, though. Like I said in my first post, do I just combine both ground wires to pin 18 on the connector? I'm assuming I do but I want to be sure.

Yeah I saw that after I posted, lol.

If I restore my original nand, I can boot right back to dashboard. The falcon I have still has the old "Blades" dashboard.

I've searched for it but it's pretty rare evidently. I found a couple people that had the error but either never resolved it or didn't say what fixed it.
Any ideas?
EDIT: After a whole lot of googling, I found a thread that helped. Basically I moved all the files from a folder in the root directory to C:\Documents and Settings\Matt and just typed the command "nandpro lpt: -w16 Xell.bin". So for anyone having similar problems, try moving all the Nandpro files and bin files from the Nandpro20b folder in the root of the hard drive to your "Documents and Settings" folder.

Is the file "Xell.bin" in the same directory as nandpro?
Also make sure you are using the correct xell version for your motherboard version.

I flashed Xell and got my cpu key. I'm following a tutorial to get the dvd key (it's for xenon 360's though) and it says to open 360 Flash Tool and it will ask for the cpu key. When I open it, nothing pops up asking for the key, so I click the "keys" button and enter my cpu key but it doesn't do anything. What am I doing wrong? I need the dvd key because this 360 doesn't have a drive.
HA! I have no idea what I did, but I just re-opened the nand and it has the cpu key and dvd key already in it. *shrug*

You did use the right XBReboot version based on your motherboard revision, right?
Now if I can just figure out why I am getting an E79 error on my JTAGged Flacon.

Did you flash your KV and Config back onto the NAND? Also check the soldering for the jtag wires.

I just flashed XBR, then flashed my KV and that's it. The tutorial I was using didn't say anything about flashing the config.
I'm pretty sure my soldering is good because I had errors trying to flash Xell last night and it ended up being because the ground cable came off the board. After that I went over all my soldering and it should be good to go.
I'm gonna try reading the nand again and re-writing xbr. Am I supposed to inject the kv before or after flashing xbr? And how do I get this config file?

Then flash xbr and type:
nandpro lpt: -w16 config.bin 3de 2
If you keep getting an RROD after you flash your kv and config then your wires either aren't soldered to the correct points or there is a cold joint somewhere.
That's too many bad block errors, make sure there is no interference in the room like a phone or any wireless signals. I found it helpful to lay the top of the case over the metal frame so most of the wiring was covered up, this helped prevent any interference. It's more likely though that it's bad soldering.

Yeah I have 4 or 5 original matching nand dumps.
You thought there was too many read errors before? I just looked and there's a WHOLE lot more. Basically every block from 200 up has an error.
No idea what happened, but I think I'm going to flash the original NAND back and check for errors on that before I do XBR again.

Or would I risk banning my Live console?

There should not be a problem as I have use the same hard drive in both of my 360's. One Jtagged and the other legit for live.
