Title: Is There An Alternate Point For Jtag?
Post by: ccfman2004 on January 20, 2010, 11:01:00 PM
I finally got my April 2009 arcade. Dumped the nand, flashed XBRebbot. All successfully.
After I soldered the diode to the lone point near the HDD connector I did a stupid thing, I tried to bend the diode so it would be flush with the motherboard. BIG MISTAKE. In doing so, I broke the pad. Now what do I do?
Is there an alternate point or do I have to find the trace and solder to that? If I have to solder to the trace, I would as if anyone here can do that for me as I don't have the skills needed to do that. I can solder to pads no problem, but having to lift a tract and solder to that, can't do that.
Am I screwed or can this be fixed? I am on Long Island, NY, USA

If you're referring to DB1F1 on the top of the motherboard, the alternate point for it is FT1U2 on the underside of the motherboard. It's almost directly underneath DB1F1. In the future, always make your bends before soldering. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Except there is no pad on that one.
EDIT: Anyone in the USA that can do this last point for me as I don't have the skills to go cutting a trace and soldering to it.

For future reference you should solder that point like grim187 points out in his thread.
