Title: Without Cpu Key, No Freeboot?

Without CPU key, no FreeBoot?

and without kernel 4532/4548 no CPU key?

Is this correct?


I was thinking about getting a Cygnos v2, and freebooting into the newer kernels, so I could play the latest games, without destroying my homebrew options. However, upon reading, a CPU key is needed. I also read that a CPU key is only obtainable if you have 4532 or 4548. As I'm only pre August 09, thats not me.

you can flash xell to the nand and get the cpu key as long as your kernel isn't higher than 7371. i am pretty sure of this.

Is there any reason for me to hold out on updating then? If I can't get the CPU key now, I can't run Freeboot and bypass updating. Probably no bypass in sight in near future?

Do you think freeboot will ever be capable of being run without a CPU key?

Well, as long as you never updated on August 2009, then you should be able to flash xell, grab the cpu key and be good to go as far as freeboot goes

you dont need a 4xxx kernal you need a 7xxx

and if you cant get xell to run freeboot will not work as xell runs freeboout

you seem a little confused freeboot isnt the new exploit that lets you run homebrew its a program that lest you run the latest dash update as a program so you dont have to update
