Yeah I had a go at this with success, but I'm now questioning whether I'm putting my new unmodded Xbox in danger - can M$ detect this and what can they do about it?

Ummm both myself and a friend are attempting this... but... we only have 3 Partitions visible:
Partition 2 is the only partition which contains info, but, nothing in it is what appears in the tutorial.
What's going on? What are we doing wrong?

Thanks~

Yep... just figured that out.
Thanks!

So... to confirm... this step must be done each time the HD is removed from a "banned" to an "unbanned" console. (Or is this procedure done when going from "unbanned to banned" console?)

~Cheers

People have been banned for hex editing saves and profiles after doing some background research on this method, so use at your own risk.

I posted this few mins ago but it timed out.

You only need to edit saves going from banned to unbanned.
You wont get the un-banned xbox banned doing this.
Only people banned for save editing is people that uploaded those saves to websites/p2p and MS downloaded them and got there console ID out of. So keep your saves to yourself and you will be fine.

I think doing this AND connecting to LIVE with an unmodded console might get it banned....

i think it falls under the "cheating" category that M$ lists on the 5 reasons to get banned.
