Title: Jungleflasher And Intel Sata

I have a similar problem. I **HAVE TO** use DOSFLASH16 to flash my drives. My Motherboard has am Intel chipset and NO IDE ports( JUST PCI-E 16x and PCI-E 1x.) this means I CANNOT install a VIA Sata expansion card into my computer. I have tried to use Jungleflasher numerous amounts of times and it will simple not see my DVD drive. Under "Device Properties" it ALWAYS stays at "No drive Detected,(Tried a Liteon, 2 Benq's, and a Samsung)

But fortunately with a BenQ you can do it through dosflash EASILY.

You need to make a USB drive to boot from. In my bios I have to set me Sata drives to ATA, not the other (default) mode, forgot the name.  

1. Turn computer on, followed by 360, almost directly after.(I'm connecting my DVD drive to SATA on the comp and powering it with the 360)

2. Once at the cmd prompt just type "dosflash". WITHOUT the " and ".

3. Press the number corresponding to your drive(Mine is usually 1, if I keep my HDD plugged in.)

Somewhere along the line it will ask you to either r(read) , W(write), or e(erase). Press r when it asks.

Save the file as orig.bin (or whatever)

Then reboot to windows...

Open up Firmware Toolbox (I use .4.8) Load the orig.bin you just saved and copy your key.

then open the new benq hacked firmware 1.51 or 1.6 whatever is out I don't remember exactly. replace the key with the one you just copied.

Click on save key, save it as whatever you want onto your USB drive you use to boot with, something easy( I use hacked.bin)

reboot and turn your power on to your dvd drive a second or so after your computer turns on.
 once in dos dos and type in dosflash and choose your DVD drive number(usually either 0 or 1 depends on what is hooked up, if you have a problem unhook everything SATA, even your HDD(except your 360 DVD drive of course...)

This time around choose w(for write) and type in hacked.bin(or whatever you named it).

After it is done, turn off the computer and power down your 360. Might need to power cycle it 1 extra time.

After this your Benq should be flashed! smile.gif

just answered this same problem on another thread


1. boot up dos
2. power on drive
3. run dosflash
4. choose port
5. say no to "do you want to try sending the magic28 unlock code"
6. say no to the half open tray (geremia) method
7. say yes to resend mtk vendor intro command
8. powercycle the drive and it should now be in vendor mode

then u will be able to read, erase, and write the hacked firmware. dont forget to copy ur key into the hacked fw

are u powering the drive with the xbox or with an adapter like the maximus extractor/ck3 thingy?

ok just use the power button on the front of the xbox to turn it off and then back on.

so when you say yes to send mtkvendor, i turn the 360 off right away. then how long before i power it back on. a couple of seconds.

u dont have to turn it off instantly after u type "y". once its off i turn it on quickly, i dont think it matters how quickly (dont go waiting 20 minutes) right after u turn it on it should find the flash chip properties and ask u whether to read, erase, or write

no luck. i think it's because i am using an intel chipset. or my drive is messed up. but i didn't flash to anything. i order a VIA card. it comes tomorrow. maybe i will have better luck with that. although i heard the drivers could be a problem.

try the unlock trick. if that doesnt work try using the send intro button, and powercycle the drive

i did the unlock trick. worked. from there i followed the jungleflasher tuturial. everything was going well. i saved the key. then began to write and it's just sitting there on bank 1 with one dot. is this normal.

i went into task manager. the application is not responding. should i stop it. what do i do.

stop it. erase. and try it again. u cant hurt the drive so long as u have ur original fw saved.

the flash must of not got through. my 360 isn't reading any discs. i get no error messages. just isn't reading. i put a music cd in. a copy of halo 2. i have no 360 games at the moment. i got to the last step in the tuturial and then i exited jungleflasher.
