Hello!
I have searched the net and the forum for answers but can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for my problem; I was hopping someone could help me out.
Lets start off with what I have. First I have the the Hitachi 0079FL model. I have bought the VIA 6421 chipset and plugged in into my computer installed with VIA VT6421 Raid Controller drives. I also have the Xbox 360 devices installed (the portIO32).
Now for my story. After struggling for hours to get into mode b and seeing the Hitachi drive in Windows I was so happy. This is were things go wrong. Without thinking I use the Jungle Flasher and I find the drive and press the button to have it play the unlocker audio file but I didn't have the CD inside the Xbox 360 and my computer freezes. After manual shutdown and trying over again I can't seem to get it to see it in Windows XP anymore. PLEASE HELP! I stayed up all night and I still have this problem. I still can get into mode b aftern several trys with the Slax. But can't see the Hitachi drive in Windows.
Thank you!
why are you using slax, let jungleflasher do it , I dont understand ppl using all different tools when jf will do everything for you, use port io setting in jf not win api, I can flash all versions of hitachi and never once seen a hitachi drive in windows its not required, as long as jungleflasher sees it, so when you send mode b as long as the drive replies done and theres a ref to the hitachi in the log, you are ready to roll.it doesnt have to appear in the drop down menu as a drive at all, a tip for mode b always works for me click mode b then wait til the dots on the screen are have tranversed the screen once then jack out dvd power plug then straight back in should return done message in log . if you have trouble with jungleflasher freezing your comp then you will have to uninstall the via drivers and delete a via system file there are loads of posts and tuts regarding this.I would do this anyhow just in case.

I've been at this for hours and I can say that I'm at the end. I've read and watched video tutorials on how to hack a Hitachi drive but no go. Thanks for your reply as this is a new method I've searched for and found more detail on. I have a problem though. I've uninstalled the VIA drivers and installed the IO drivers. (Keeped going back and forth on them) When I start Jungle Flasher 1.51 Beta and go over to the Hitachi menu the IO option is not selectable. How do I fix that?
