Title: Is It Safe To Update A Flashed 360 Offline
Post by: raff5 on December 30, 2007, 10:26:00 AM
hi,
i have two xbox 360's
a premium unmodded console (with 20gb hdd)
a core flashed with the ixtreme firmware

the premium i use online and has all recent updates, however the flashed one has never been online.
i tried to swap my 20gb hard drive to the core system that was flashed and it gave me a message stating that the console required system and security updates. i presume this is the fall update from the beginning of december.
my question is
is it safe to do this update on the flashed core system?
i was unsure if there would be any negative effects to this
i.e. logging on the console that will automatically ban me if i ever use this console online (would prob require ixtreme firmware update due to recent bannings before i try this anyway)
or if it may brick the console.

it would be helpful if someone could answer this as i dont want to do something to the core console i cannot undo. however if it is ok to update, it saves me buying a new hard drive.

thanks in advance
