odd... is this using the eject method, or just in general?

DMA is usually the fastest/most efficient from what i understand

cannot confirm this. Just tried it with a Toshiba SDM1402 (which didn't work with HotSwap before) and it didn't work after setting the controller to PIO (even after reboot).

A Pioneer DVR-108 works fine in any case ....

sorry to say that, but I think some DVD readers seem to have problems with wxripper and hotswap in general.

mine didnt work with eject hole trick.. but taking the top off and hotswapping worked on my old ass sony DVD reader/ Cd burner.

its a really big pain in my opinon, so i dont know if im going to pursue this method or wait for a better way, ie a modchip

I agree, my Rosewill DVD burner wouldnt do it, same with 2 different BENQ drivers. My new NEC 3540A works great.. I can get dumps, but whenever i burn them, no good! have 3 coasters so far, i apply the SS and still no luck, can someone PM me or AIM ME (jtom617) on a in depth help on applying SSs. Thanks guys, great thread too. pop.gif

That didn't work for me I couldnt get anything to work in wxRipper. I was running Windows XP 64bit edition then formatted with regular x86 and it work perfectly. So if you are running 64bit edition this will not work you.
