I wouldnt worry about it.  A new laser is less than $30.  I just installed a new one on mine cause my drive wouldnt read backups.  Guess what, it does now! tongue.gif Woohoo.

Im just curious if playing my backup copy will infact hurt the laser and i cant find much info on this.  Also wondering if certain media types will hurt the laser as well.  Im using some dynex disks and i know they are not as good as verbatim but they work fine.  But do you think this is going to hurt the xbox 360?  what is everyone else doing? is everybody just taking the chance and is going to see what happens?  or maybe everyone should backup the dvd firmware just in case the laser does break and your gonna have to get a new drive.  thoughts??

i don't think you have to worry too much for that, i mean, this is not like PS where you laser died, my xbox 1 have rea many and many media and still warking like a charm.
