because everyone says that does not work... please post if you have gotten it to work.

everyone says you have to dismantle the drive for it to work properly

yes, using the emergency drive release by sliding a paperclip in the hole

so that goes along with what i read where if you use the emergency hole, and push it slowly, maybe the laser doesnt engage, or rise enough to read the disc... i will try pushing it hard once to see.

done quite a few games now with this method, all working fine .

but only after i managed to fine a dvd-rom that didnt crc errors.

tried 5 or 6, and finally got an ASUS dvdrom that worked with everything but tombraider.

and everytime ive used the emergency eject.

you do need to slam it in a bit, but each drive is different, you just want enough so the laser rises to the lock position  wink.gif

BUT yeah, deffo working biggrin.gif
