Title: Hacking The Cpu?
Post by: Wolves on April 19, 2006, 01:18:00 AM
Ok, from what I have read from the 360's security features is that the 360's CPU has RAM in it that stores the box specific key that prevents us from flashing the 360. Now, is it only one CPU that stores that info or is it all of them? Becuase we could simply cut it's power supply, reflash it, then re-enstate the CPU, right?

And if not, then how bout designing a rig to read the CPU and then achieve this key stored within. Harder to do, but plausible.

What if we set up a temp for the CPU's, flash it and then re-enstate the CPU's.

Not to erase all that text, I have also remembered that the boot ROM is stored within the CPU(s), so, that CPU specific rig comes more into play. Now, I have no idea on how one would go about reflashing the CPU, but if MS did it, we can.

I'm sure this is harder than it sounds, but look how far we got with the old Xbox. Also, please inform me if these are n00bish comments as, I am very uninformed on the whole 'inside the hardware' scene.
