Whilst that's true, and I completely agree, if this was software alone, but they have embedded security throughout the hardware with this, and if you look back at the original xbox, if it wasn't for the original buffer overflow, the thing wouldn't have got hacked! The scene never worked out the private key to this day!
I think it's sad, because it will put many off buying one, and could ultimately help other consoles (if not as secure, peform better). 20% of the people I know only bought an XBOX after it was hacked, because they had more control and could install home brew apps, media centre etc, and be able to store their games on the HDD, extending the live of their originals.
I hope I am wrong, but I am no so sure about this, and MS learning from the original mistakes.
