Title: Moving Profile From Unbanned Xbox To Banned One, Media Update?

Hey guys I have a question.
My brothers xbox recently died and I bought him a banned xbox. His xbox was never banned,  just died. He had the media update on his profile to be able to watch xvid movies. If I put his hdd into the banned xbox, will he be able to watch xvid movies? both xboxes have the new xbe dash or whatever. I'm asking because he lives far away and I dont have his hdd right now so I cant test it.

He won't be able to watch divx movies on it if its banned unless the original owner of the system had the media update on it initially and included that storage device. The media update on your buddies drive isnt good for anything unless its licensed to the banned console or he's able to connect to Live. So chances are he won't be playing divx videos on it.
