Title: 360 Shows Movies In A Different Ar To My Pc/laptop?
Post by: wallace4793 on August 13, 2008, 01:17:00 AM
When watching movies on my 360 (component) it displays the movie AR as more "square" than on my laptop/pc (same video source). My tv is a 16:9 hitachi plasma. Cinematic AR movies fill the screen as if they are 16:9 but on my pc and laptop they show with the correct AR showing borders top and bottom. Why is this?

I am talking about 1080p wmv files so i dont think upsacaling is the issue. The AR is changing not the resolution.

While the movie is playing on your 360 bring up the on screen controls with your controller. The should be an option for changing the picture size on the right. It may be set to stretch.

No it isnt, all the different viewing modes are in the wrong ar ... too "square". It may be beacuse my tv`s native resolution is 1024x1024 as opposed to 1378 x768 as usual plasmas are.
