Title: 1080p Files
Post by: ferer on May 03, 2008, 07:36:00 PM
I have a bunch of 1080p mkv files taht will not play on the 360 in mp4 format because the bit rate is too high, I found this out on the xenonmkv forums.  I don't want to encoded it to wmv because it takes hours and hours and i don't have that kind of time for every movie I want to rip.  I was wondering if i could somehow lower the bit rate and have these files play at 1080i or something? I don't know much about video converting, so idk if that's even possible, but i'd like to play these at least at 1080i resolution, is there a way to do that and put them as mp4s or mpgs?

Changing bit rate or resolution will require re-rendering. Just out of curiosity, what is the bit rate? I have played some WMV's that were over 20 mbps with no problems.....

idk exactly, i forget and i don't have the exact files anymore but it was above 11, wmvs will play fine at that bit rate, but mp4s won't..how long does it take you to encode your wmvs?
