well, this is so i can make cheapmods obliviously, the xbox is for a friend and the ps2 is for me, my ps2's are gone so i need a new one

I have a ps2 that boots games only when you hold it up on its side, might just need a new laser.the cap on the dvd tray is missing because I use the knife trick to play my backups, I also have cd-r backups and grand turismo 3 original that I can include with the system.

looks like you have a grouding problem. SOme part of the mobo is touching the grouding part/metal cage and that is causing the ps2 to ground itself. SO when you tilt it that component isn't tocuching anythign and it works... I would suggest opening the ps2, and examing for any bent part of the cage and cover it up with some electrical tape. :beer:
