Description:

Has been modded to be plug and play, power is taken through the yellow cable, like all standard xbox dvd-rom drives.
Two drives have black trays/other two have beige trays.

Not to crap because I am honestly curious, I heard 616t's only do 4x when flashed with the firmware? I'm curious before I buy it and find out it's no better than my current sammy

i've read those reports also, but they are unconfirmed.  I can't give you an answer to your question.

 This is true...the modified 616T/F are the same as the stock 605.  They both read at 4x and read the same media.  616T's are very very reliable drives though if that is any consolation.

If you do think about it though...$85 is considered an average price around here for a stock sammy...so these are $95 shipped...a bit more expensive for a very reliable drive...If I had a thompson or a phillips I would without a doubt update my drive with one of these...but I have a stock sammy already so it would be rather pointless...

Just keep that im mind! :lol:

my modified reads games much quicker. Also it reads all media. the original 605 reads most, and has lots of problems with dvd+r while the 605 has no problem with anything. It is well worth the price and is a much better drive that will not only read games better but last you much longer.
