Title: This Is Not The End Of Kai
Post by: DOS4GW on October 09, 2005, 02:16:00 AM
This is not the end of Kai, so please calm down everyone.

We have no ETA for when the service will be up and running again, so please do not make posts with such questions.

Edit: And please don't make more posts about how much you're going to miss it. That's pointless as this isn't the end.

I’m glad kai not done for
have you guys at kai ever thought about charging like 2 bucks a month to play that fair that $24 a year per person and if I remember their are like 200,000 people singed up for kai sure some of them probably don’t play for some reason or another but that an estimation of about  4.8 million dollar a year and you could definitely pay people with that and have more then one sever or something eles tp help you guys out and I would defintly pay that I like $24 better then $60 and you guys are way better then xbl or xbc I bet a lot of people would pay that or even pay even less 50 cents  would be 6 per year and 1.2 million for you  surely that would be enough and save some every year and you guys would be rolling in the cash very soon  just my thoughts

This is not the end of XLink, but it is the end of an era in our history.

Thanks to TD vision we dont just have a piece of software, we have had the opportunity to grow into something much more.

and XLink will continue to grow.

On Friday October 7th our core server in Amsterdam went offline at around 11 PM EST. As a result, authentication is unavailable making logging in to Kai impossible. Since that time, we have been working around the clock to restore functionality to the server and/or recover the data. Our technical contact at the data center is unable to go onsite there until Tuesday October 11th. Based on his ‘remote-hands’ diagnostics, we do not anticipate any issues recovering the data and restoring full functionality.

It is 9:00am EST. Does this mean that it is 3pm over there now? Just trying to get an idea of when to expect the 'tech guy' to attempt to bring things back online.

Before Kai was having network issues, I was still signed on and am still signed on smile.gif.  There are only about 30 people still on Kai, and I'm gonna see how long I can stay on before I lost orbital or my internet connection screws up.

How soon is "soon" or "shortly"? Because Kai has been down for nearly 3 days. A couple of hours up to 1 day is a pretty good definition. I'm not complaining. Just curious when we,  avid kai members, should expect it back up? Surely not a whole week... *cripes*

>> If they post a timeframe and then miss it due to some unforeseen problem, the moron hordes will start complaining even more

Us "moron hordes" (also known as "users") would love to know when the service might be back up.  If the time given is incorrect or missed for some unforseen reason then us morons might like to know why.  The absense of information creates far more questions.

Just want to tell you guys at Kai thanks and keep up the good work. I, for one, do not care how long it takes you guys to bring it back up. I think a lot of people here are really disappreciative of how long it takes to write/maintain a software package like this. I am exstatic that there are people like you guys working on this problem and cannot wait until its available again..thanks, GraFfiX.

For the Aussies, you might wanna wait another 12 hours from when i said it was up. Why? I don't know but it's about a 12 hour difference from the US to AU. You'll get it "soon" haha

everyone should be able to go online, it will take some time to get all the orbitals online so if your not close to an orbital XLink will seam slow, and logging on could take some time.

The website is still down for maitinance, but should be back online soon.

All my friends are playing on kai again. But sadly, I am not. I don't know why....? All it says is "attaching to orbital", and the green animated kai circle is stuck! Anyone know why? Thanks in advance.

tonelab77, firefighter, & mauiwaui:

Start KaiLaunch.exe. When the startup screen launches click on the text below the blue progress bar.

You will then open up a "secret" menu with IP addresses of the orbs. Select one and click ok.

Close Kai if it's still requiring orbital mesh and repeat the procedure over again chosing another IP address till you got it running.

I am having a problem connecting with xbmc?  As far as i know you can’t change orbital ip address or what ever you just explained above in the last post.  I am not in any hurry for a solution; I just want to know if I am the only one having this problem.  I am running kia on my roughter, and I get a error that kia is not responding or something like that.

1. Sorry, we do not perform service on Kia.
2. This is not the correct place to post your questions. Make a new thread if you need assistance on the issue.
