Title: Yet Another Boring ?network? Problem
Post by: WebLOCH on July 13, 2005, 10:04:00 PM
Hey all,

Just want to run this scenario by you all, to see if I am missing something pretty simple, I have the following setup...

        (wired)             (wifi)
XBOX --------LAPTOP /\/\/\/\/\/\ Router

Now I know that some wireless cards will drop non-specifically assigned packets, but I thought that as my xbox is WIRED to my laptop, all packets would get to Kai and then Kai would encapsulate these in its own protocol and send them on.

So my theory is that as long as the xbox is wired to something, the packets will all make it, however I can see games my friends are hosting and I can host, yet no-one can ever connect and I can never connect to a game, there are not ACTUAL listening games created.  I have assumed this is down to the wifi dropped packet problem but then as there is wired connection to the latop I assumed the Kai protocols would account for this.

If ANYONE knows whats up please tell me!  Thanks!
