Title: [debian] Woody/stable Xlink-kai
Post by: DeFiAnCeNL on March 22, 2005, 06:02:00 AM
hi all im in the process of setting up a home network to use for kai.
i got a linux box running debian(woody),upgrading to sid later.
i got my network setup. using 2 nics in the linux box
the linux box can access internet and everything
but when i try to ping my xbox, i dont get a reply
but the link led is on , and i cant find any errors
note that im not talking about ipmasq at the moment
i just need to get the network up first

is it normal that you cant ping the xbox ? ia it doesnt reply to a ping ?
or is my network misconfigured

eth0
ip     : xx.29.4.190
gate : xx.29.4.1
sub  : 255.255.254.0

eth1 : 192.168.0.1
gate : none
sub : 255.255.255.0

please note that when i bring up ifconfig
eth1 says that it has send many packets, none lost.
but no single packet ever received

im not running a firewall at the moment so that cant be the issue

thnx in advance
