Hmm, I'm trying to find the chart they had regarding this

I want to say it is buried somewhere in here:

But I'm not positive. I do remember seeing it at one point, I would check the above link for it.

Bah - found it right after I posted

Xecuter 4980 and 4981 definitely have it, 4982 and 4983 seem to have it as an option using XTool to enable/disable xbox live access

Yeah do as many backups as possible, I just restored an xbox I did awhile back (almost a year) because the dash got completely f'd up and they deleted some bios haha
