I have the same problem as you do killab443. Ok I've read many tuts and PM in the forum. All of them seem to send you into a loop of controversy of which theory is believed to be true and which is untrue. I've lost an 80G Western digital because of all the bickering about what method is best for unbanning. Now I have followed the tuts and forums to unban both of my systems. What is confusing is rather the "Marriage Theory" is in fact stone or not. If someone could inform me of what information on the EEPROM is like that of on the HDD. Is the "ONLINE KEY" the same as the key or password located in the EEPROM information? I had changed the "32 character" code on the HDD and saved it then locked the drive and then it stopped registering the partitions of the HDD. Now the drive has bad sectors at the beginning, so you know what that means:(
All I'd like to know is what I need to do step by step in order to get both my Systems unbanned. If all you need to do is change the EEPROM. Wouldn't the info about the HDD remain the samE?

I belive this is how Bill Gates and M$ are scanning the drives that are upgraded. He's retrieving information from the EEPROM which taddle tell on the box.
Hell we all spend way too much money with M$ to have them ban us from utilizing the "Live servers". You wouldn't believe the total of all the products I have spent money on to include Xbox Live subscription. I've even complied with M$ to shut down my Mod chip prior to going on live and they still want to ban me! :\
Ok first they force you to comply with the invasion of your privacy like some terrorists. That is not American at all for them to do such a thing. I'm going on the "Consumerist.com" web site and fight for all of us just as the one guy did concerning "AOL" not cancelling his membership. You all will be seeing me on Dateline NBC.
Marriage theory is True. It has been proven true by numerous people who get banned for swapping out hdd's and not eeproms. In its simplest form Marriage theory is, once you go on live with one setup, eeprom and Hdd are collected by MS and stored together. If the eeprom comes back on and has a different Hdd, then you have obviously changed it and you are banned. Now there is some gray areas around if hdd's that are not banned can be used again, with multiple eeproms. Thats really the gist of it. My suggestions are the safest and have worked for countless others.
If you have a problem with your TOS from MS then don't use live. As soon as you log in your xbox must be exactly as they made it. And gripper is right, if they didn't ban people for having modded stuff on live then every game would be like the H2 fiasco.
If you want to get back on, with an xbox that has been banned I give these suggestions.
New Virgin eeprom + New stock Hdd + old Gt(flagged) =Live
or
New Virgin eeprom + New Large size Hdd+ New GT = Live
For the errors you guys are reporting a new eeprom will be needed.
