Title: Yeah I Got Banned, Can Somebody Tell Me How Not To Again?

Since when I first modded my xbox I have no clue what I was doing, so I may have no backed something up right but when I try to un-mod my box, it gives me an error 21. So I decided to go online using my UnleashX dash cause I wanted to play some Operation Flashpoint. Well I got about 5 mins in and then I got disconnected and I couldn't re-connect. So I am banned. Alright my friend modded his box and he doesn't have a live account and no plans, so I'm taking his backed-up stuff. Alright, so how do I play without getting banned... do I have to totally un-mod my box and delete all of the emu and apps off of my harddrive, or do I just have to go to the MS Dashboard first? Please somebody help me.

so maybe its a problem with your xbox, not that you were banned.

is it soft modded or hardmodded?

if he connected with a hacked bios loaded it takes less than 5 seconds to get banned, but may take up to a week for the ban to actually kick in


what you need to do to not get banned is make sure your mod is disabled (this means modchip off for hardmods, or coldboot original game for softmods)

if you play halo2 make sure you arent using any hacks or game mods on live, not even in custom games

Ok I am softmodded as you can see now in my sig with version info. I just got my friend's Xbox Dash backups because I seem to get an error 21 when I try to run mine. So to play would I use the MS Dash link in my UnleashX menu to get to the old dash, then pop in my retail copy of Operation Flashpoint or Halo 2 whatever? Or would I have to uninstall my softmod every single time?

no, that will be a ban for sure since the softmod is still loaded

you dont have to unintall it, just make sure you coldboot the games (turn on xbox, put game in, turn off xbox, turn on xbox with game still inside) it will load the game before the MS dash (and this befere the exploit)

you can also update to a newer version of ndure that allows you to boot stock with the eject button
