Title: Xbl Wont Connect

i just helped this friend of mine update his eeprom so he can play on live with a different hd
the problem is that his xbox is ntsc and the eeprom is from a pal but i changed the video formats so that works but he cant seem to connect to xbl. i really cant do much from here caus im at school 6 hours away and im helping him through aim, but his network settings seem to be ok, dhcp is enabled all that good stuff. but i think it might have something to do with it being from a pal.

any suggestions im compleatly stumped he says that the troubleshooter just stops at the last step and says it cant fint xbl

Xbox Live has detected your friends EEPROM is not how it should be.  The can't connect message is just a temp message until the ban has been fully processed.  Your friend is now banned from XBL.

but its been like a week usually you get banned within 24 hours, why would he be banned he has a different hd and a different eeprom and an unflaged gamertag

i think it might just be a network problem but i tried everything.

I know because it happened to me.  The can't connect is the message that comes up for a long time while the ban is being processed, then the modfied hardware/software message comes up later after the ban has gone through.
