Title: Xbox Live Not Found, But I Don't Think It's A Ban?

I turn off my xec 2.6, locked hdd too, and load up ms dash. Comes up fine, but I go to play on live, and I am unable to connect. I hit up the trouble shooter to see the problem, and al my network settings are fine, until it comes up Xbox Live not Found. This is weird, because I have not gotten this message before. I tried rebooting and accessing from ingame, but I always come up with Xbox Live not Found. Anyone know what I can do to fix this and get back on Live?

I don't think I was banned either, like I said, HDD was locked, and modchip was off...GT isn't flagged (this is the second time going on live with a modded box).

Also, my GT isn't even on this xbox, because I had just formatted. Can I still be banned? Cause I don't think Live even loaded up as it did not have an account to log on with...but I could be wrong,

I have the same problem, although my gamertag is flagged, I put in a new stock xbox HD (never been on live) and new eeprom (never been on live).  Instead of getting the normal "Software or Hardware has been modified" I get "XBox Live cannot be found".  I've tried putting on the dash through SlaYers and AID 2.02, both dashes worked fine with the chip off, but I'm still getting no response.  If anybody's been through this, please help us out.

when you're in the troubleshooting screen where there's the red X in a circle on the bottom next to "Xbox Live not found." press the Y button.

My friend told me to press A when I was at the XYZ codes and it shows this:

Hopefully that'll help someone figure out our problem.

Okie dokie then.

There isn't much you can both try to get back on. And from the 3 things that are usually tried, the first 2 are rarely successful. But, if there's a chance, it's worth the try.

1st- Go to the Usual Place and download an xbox program called Enigmah video mode switcher. It might be under a different name, but I believe is the only thing under the video mode editing section.
Once you have that in your xbox, run the xbe (you will have to unzip/unrar it first) and switch from whatever mode you are, to the oposite mode, then back to your original mode, and reboot. Try to connect and make sure your chip/softmod is deactivated.

2nd- If you've been using ConfigMagic Final lately, to check your eeprom config or to modify it. It should have created a backup of your eeprom on the root directory of one of your drives, or if you bought it, try the original file. Try reflashing that eeprom backup with a different program (Except EEPROMER, unless you have a 1.0 xbox, and I would avoid that as well). And also, relocking it with other than ConfigMagic. Again, I want to make clear, I have nothing against ConfigMagic Final. I've tried and it did the job nicely. But in some cases, wich are rarely seen, it doesn't lock the HDD correctly. And that's why the locking with a different proggy suggestion.

You can also get an eeprom Backup from evox with the backup utility.
Make sure the eeprom is alright, you can check it with a program called LiveInfo from TEAMASSEMBLY, the same makers of ConfigMagic. Make sure it's the same version your xbox is, and if not, convert it. Note that for 1.0's you can only use original 1.0's. And for 1.6's, you can only use original eeproms from 1.6's box.

3rd- Get/Buy a new eeprom and try with it.

EDIT:  ALWAYS KEEP AN UNTOUCHED BACKUP OF YOUR ORIGINAL EEPROM BEFORE YOU MESS WITH IT wink.gif

BTW, I did both, used enigmah, and locked (i had given up on that HD so it was unlocked anyways) with slayers.

Well now I don't know what to do, I went to go sign onto live after I finished typing, and the screen was black.  Now it will start flubber animation and turn off.  My HD power cable was blocking my fan, so hopefully it just overheated and will cool down.  Now I'm really freaked out.  It starts, then flashes green as it resets itself and stops working.

AAAhhhhh!!!!

Musta been the heat, starts up again, thanks again Mangus.  God, I nearly shit my pants when it stopped working lol.

Does it turns on an off a couple of times before it goes completley black? or just goes off ?

Let it cool for a good 15 minutes. If it keeps doing that, describe exactly what the behavior is. And if you get any error message, let us know.
