i modded a brand new crystal system for freind from europe. i locked the hdd and everything. i put a 250 wd inside it. he has been modded system for a few mths. he finally got dsl at his house, so he went on live. been doing that for few mths. then he wanted to mod some halo maps, so he turned the mod on ftped and transfered a few halo maps i gave him.
later on, he got banned.
another freind basically the same thing, except his was a real old board. he lives in the same house as the freind. he used live no problem, than we transfered maps
which he used. he went on line, and banned. both banned after using live for long time, going on to the modded side. then going back to live.
i am thinking something happens after they go onto the modded side, then go on to live right away then.

@xboxhaxorz: is there any possibility that another GT was also used on the boxes (because, if so, it was likely flagged) eh?
-
would the modded files in the cache do anything?
-
Only thing I can come up with is the bios in use was still the modded bios for some reason. Did your friends turn their xbox's off, then their chips and then turn the xbox's back on?
My box has a mod chip in it and I use XBL without any problems, also got a different dash on C:.

they created there gt on my unmodded kasumi system. eventually they got live in there house after ordering dsl. then they went online in their homes.
the only thing in common with them is that they used live for while, went to play some modded halo maps.
after they were done, they went to play halo 2 on live. then got the message.
however i made sure to put a bios that disables live on their system. so if they forgot anything, it wouldnt have made a difference.
another freind goes on live, turns it off and misc all the time. goes to play hdd games, then live and so forth. + he went online about a yr ago, got his system modded with a large hdd, he never went online again until halo 2 came out. he is so lucky. cause 3 peeps have bought fresh systems and put the large hdd in and got it modded. but he had a already non virgin live box and then got modded and is still now going online.

(Hmm ... supposing no previously flagged GT has been on their boxes, this seems potentially unusual to me eh.)
Did they both have transferred/modded Halo and Halo 2 maps (or just one kind) and does the third friend, that wasn't suddenly banned, also have the maps?
-
call it strange but i was playing on a mdded box for over 8 months, the day after halo2 release which i played all night after picking up at midnight i was banned by 5pm when i returned home from work
-
@deacon187: did you have any Halo mods installed at the time (and do you recall if that was considered as a possible cause) eh?
-
the other freind did not have the maps. however is sibling got a new system modded directly from me, was banned.
so far, everybody that was not online ever got theyre system modded with new hdd and chip. they all got banned.
the other guy is really lucky or something is not right.

That sounds really weird. I play halo 2 all the time on xbl, actually, thats the only reason i got xbl and thats all i play on xbl. I have been playing halo 2 on xbl since its release date and i still have not been banned.
