I got a new EEPROM from a friend who never signed onto Xbox Live. What do I do with it? I do not want to waste it by doing something wrong.

Actually, I didn't get the EEPROM yet, but he's going to give it to me. Where does he get it from and stuff? Is it a file?

Does it matter about our versions? His is a newer Xbox. Mine is a 1.0 or something. It's 2 years old. Does it matter?

you have to replace the HD with a new EEPROM (marriage theory)

If you have been banned:
1) Get new unbanned EEPROM, new unbanned any size HD, new GammerTag
or
2) Get new unbanned EEPROM, unbanned stock HD, keep GT

Are you sure a 1.0 can only work with a 1.0. I have heard otherwise. My friend has a 1.0 Xbox and I have a 1.1. He said he will give me his EEPROM, but I don't want to get it and have it not work.

You know Zodiiak? The EEPROM guy? He sent me a message and it said:

"If you are requesting a 1.6 EEPROM, please make a payment note for that eeprom. For All other eeprom's Any version 1.0-1.5 eeprom can be used on any 1.0-1.5 xbox."

I have just read otherwise around here...  get him to guarentee you that 1.0-1.5 will work on your box, if not he has to send you your version.

I'm not saying he is wrong, just that I have heard the other.

Alright. he told me that you can convert a 1.0 to a 1.1, so you were both right.
