more than likely its an eeprom issue...sounds like it to me.  The eeprom your using is banned from live.

I don't see how, never been on live....

Wouldn't it tell me it's for modd'd hardware as well?

Here's what "Help" tells me:

"Your Xbox console cannot communicate with Xbox Live because of technical configuration issues. Please call the Customer Care number listed in your Xbox Instruction Manual"

That's it .... i called, and they couldn't help me ....

Don't some chips turn live off when the chip is on so you don't get banned by accidently going on live with the chip enabled?

Not too sure. When you fit a mod chip on to the LPC port have you any idea what you have just connected up? biggrin.gif

Can anyone explain to me the procedure for fixing the 00C2 problem please. My gamertag is not banned, but I cannot connect to live, so it looks like this mismatched eeprom settings deal. I got the 8A code first, then I tried resetting the region using enigmah, but that didn't work.  I have since done a  'retail HDD with ModChip' reinstall from Slayers 2.6 Final, and am now getting code 00C2.
Is there a fix or do I need a new eeprom ?

The fix is in that topic, but i ended up getting a new eeprom..
