Okay I'm buying the Halo 2 today ! but have been using teh french and saved some files... where are those files kepted? I would like to erase them ! |
Saved games are in the MS dash, like always
well if u had unleashx, that can tell you the folder that it saves all teh files for in. just go to information, and it tell you. all you have to do is delete that folder, and you should be fine
have you been banned shanafan?
ok ok i will admit it, i had the French version on my 120g hdd, last night when i bought the game (i didnt rip anybody off) i went home to play on the stock hdd, with no halo 2 saves or anything. Could they have found out about me playing it before?
If only i had the patience to wait 23 days. Dammit
the people that were banned, did you get on live at all to begin with?
The PAL French/PAL UK/NTSC US all use the same TDATA directory so I highly doubt the game saves will be the issue. XBL has no way of determining whether the directory was created using the French version or the US version. Food for thought...
ive been on for a half hour with my chip disabled, fine so far, even with the update, think ill be ok?
danlk2: whats your setup?
It seems that having the leak by itself doesnt cause this. My friend has the leak on his stock xbox that was put on there w/ the mechassult exploit. He is using live fine right now.
again pleaze post your setup. I am not really interested in the people who are banned set ups, just the poeple with mods who are still making it on live. I have been very careful yet I believe i am still banned.
My Xenium box did have leaked saves on it...got banned
My X3 box didnt...and it got banned
i have a 2.6 light, with 120 gig maxtor hd, ive been online since like 10, and im fine, disabled the chip, turned on the box and made ip settings automatic, turned it back off, plugged in the ethernet cable, turned it on with halo 2, xbl (had to do the update), BAM worked fine.
well thats gonna suck balls
ive been on for like 5 hours now, still good
you know, i've been reading, and that was one thing that struct me as funny, was when people started to talk about how there system is partitioned. I assume everyone partitioned E to be the same size as it originally is, then created an F partition that had all the games on it, but with how people have beent talking, that doesn't seem to be the case, and they don't seem to understand the reason for the F drive.
now what i'm wondering is if people put the Avalaunch files on the C partition, if they get banned. Currently I run bios 4183, which I don't believe you can modify, so i have all the avalaunch files on C. i haven't been able to test my system because i'm at work.
Now i do have a friend who is saying he has the devkit on the E drive, and hasn't been banned.
Not at the moment. Something is going on, that is obvious. People need to express their thoughts in any way possible.
i have a modded box with x2 4981 modified to boot from F. I have a 120GB samsung hard drive. I've been on live before with no troubles..
C is totally stock. All my h4x0r stuff is on F.
I am going to go through my ms dash and delete any saved data from homebrew software like dvd2xbox. I want to ensure E is clean as well.
then I'm going to delete my cached data from E:\cache, x, y, and z
Then I'm going to pop in halo 2 and let it fly. I'll post back with results..
I have a virgin xbox on standby just in case..
Hello All,
I wanted to share with you my experience, hoping to help solve this riddle. I am using a modded XBox and am able to play on Live!.
Below is my current setup and Live! history:
(1) I have never been banned.
(2) I am using a modified hard drive. This hard drive was in place at the time I signed up for Live! and has never been swapped out with another hard drive.
(3) I downloaded and played the French leak from DVD. I used XBC and XLink to play the leak up to this point.
(4) Until today, I have not signed in to Live! for about 1.5 weeks.
(3) Modchip is X2 with version 4983.06 BIOS.
(4) HDD is 40GB, I do not recall the brand or model.
(5) Evox is set to boot from C:.
These are the precautions I followed before signed-in to Live! with all of the current bannings in mind:
(1) Deleted the French leak saved games and save games of all homebrew apps.
(2) Deleted the contents of the "cache" folder.
(3) Deleted the contents of X, Y, and Z drives.
I have purchased the retail Halo 2, downloaded the Halo 2 online update, and have signed into Live! via Halo 2 several times. I have signed on and off of Live! at least 10 times, rebooting the XBox after each sign-out. I have been able to connect to Live! for around 3 hours since I first attempted this all earlier today.
If I have excluded any information that might be useful, let me know and I will post it.
Hebram
same here... i actually had the leaked english game installed on my E drive. Never removed it...
My hard drive is stock. And, of course...mod chip was off when i went to live.
I'm not a mod but I'm wondering why there would be a post telling pirates to delete their save games when get on Xbox live with a retail copy. Piracy is piracy isn't it? Even if you bought the game a week or two later.

played all night last night on live. I must say I'm sick of the same 3 levels when playing free-for-all slayer.
Anyway, yeah. No ban yet. I will keep you all posted.
me too. no probs yet.
well if we were all smart, we would have virgin boxes for live........
that way, we wouldnt have this problem
