| Evox has a "backup" menu option. Select this option and a little backup banner comes up with a smiley face. You can find hdd.txt, eeprom.bin and a couple other files in the backup folder. If you don't see it, first create a "backup" folder in the root of C: Run the backup option again and eeprom.bin will be there. |
Yah but do i have to put a command promt in or something because i don't have an option saying i can back it up, but i was told config magic can make this backup,

Hello...I need to reprogram myEeprom. I bought a new eeprom.bin but I do not know how to load it up. I also have Slayer's Evox Autoinstaller. I have read the instruction and it states to load the unbanned eeprom file into the data directory..Where is the data directory. I can load ConfigMagic off the cd but where do I ftp the new eeprom.bin file?? |
The data directory is with Configmagic.
Configmagic, if it is on your Xbox HD, is somewhere on E: or F: I do not know where.. I don't use Slayer's as I prefer to do things myself to avoid issues like these.
FTP in your Xbox, and explore
So with ConfigMagic, could I change my game region to Japan and play Japanese games even with the modchip turned off??????

I want to backup my eeprom, since I don't plan to go on Xbox Live for awhile. I want to replace the eeprom with a banned eeprom. Is this possible?
What are the keys I need the change? Serial? Online Key? Confounder?
I'm going to change the MAC address for sure.
Is there some check to see if the serial key/online key is valid? Or can I enter any value? And where can I get my hands on some banned eeprom keys.
I probably don't know what I'm talking about, but hopefully someone out there understands. |
Here is a banned EEPROM:
http://cisweb.hfcc.n...szyk/banned.bin
K, I just followed the instructions in this thread. My xbox was banned. I bought a new EEPROM. I installed it via configmagic, unlock hdd, load new EEPROM from bin, set the DVD KIT thing to 1, which was the same as my old xbox EEPROM, region was the same. Updated it, locked the hdd and exited.. Seems ok, it let me on Xbox Live, asking me to sign up for a new subscription, which is fine.
Thing is, I loaded up Ninja Gaiden to test it, and all my save game files were corrupted and it said it couldn't load them. Is there anything I can do about this?
I don't know if this has spread to other games as well.
But i think that CFM Final needs a big actualization. Yesterday I modded a Crystal Xbox. Did backup using the EvoX, and after that I did a backup using Config Magic. I wanted to reflash the EEPROM with the old EEPROM values, cause I wanted to change DVD KIT zone (I prefer 'fuck out everything method and install everything again' instead of little steps that may lead wrong way ;P). I tried to reflash the EEPROM, but CFM shows fucked up values (EEPROM.bin path is 100% ok). It shows that the EEPROM is from NTSC console, and all numbers are pure 0s. I think thats because it doesnt load the EEPROM data. So I checked the first eeprom.bin (from a virgin xbox - until the DVD KIT was plugged for the 1st time) using hex editor on my pc. Then I checked the EEPROMbackup.bin made by CFM (again - fromm the time when that box was a virgin). What did I see? Different values! No matter if I try to reflash the EEPROM with values made by Evox, or by the CFM it doesn't see the correct EEPROM (values), but it reads it well from the mobo's EEPROM. I don't fucking get it ;/. The values made by Evox and CFM final are different (2 bytes), and the box's EEPROM is unflashable with any *.bin file. 'Edit on the fly' works fine, but I don't believe that method as I screwed one XB playing with CFM Final (was unable to launch any xbe of a CD ;P). What did I use? EEPROMER - flashed perfect, CFM Final was, of course, unable to read the EEPROM stored on the HDD to flash the onboard chip... But let's get back to the Crystal one - the EEPROMER doesn't work on that box ;/. It does not load the EEPROM from the Z: drive and doesn't even do a backup.
I hope someone knows wtf is goin' on. It may have to deal with the Focus chips and new hardware... As my friend told me. EEPROMs (chips) from 1.0 boxes do not work on the new Focused boxes ;/. He resoldered the EEPROMs and the Focus box behaved exactly the same as the 1.0 with no EEPROM. Don't we need a new EEPROM tool for the new boxes?
hanzo-san: yes, you can edit your EEPROM, save it and turn the modchip off, so that you can play f.e. games from othe regions and change PAL to NTSC etc. The only difference between NTSC and PAL boxes is the EEPROM data (and power supply - which is actually the most important thing ;D).
I put an x2pro on a vs 1.0 box, everything worked fine. I then tried to add a seagate 80gb hd and succesfully added evox with 4983.06 bios. Im able to do everything in evox, but can't go back to M$ dash by either switching over, or turning chip off. Gives me error 21 screen. Only thing I can think is I tried to lock the new HD first.
Now the Config magic pulls my origional eeprom.bin up as 00's. I think it's a eeprom prob, but can't seem to re config it with backup because pulls 00's. could eeprom be problem, or just bad msdash?
You have the same problem as me, dude. Config Magic fucks up the EEPROM values - it reads 00s instead of what is stored in EEPROM.bin.
It's Config Magic Final's fault.
Man. This is too much work just to get my box back on live.. I'm just gonna buy another box for live..

Yup.. Modded with an Xecuter 2.3B lite flashed with EvolutionX bios and using the Evox dashbaord.. But I somehow messed up big time.. Not only did I not realize going to the MS Dash(auto loggin enabled) would get me banned but I did something when installing/flashing my chip so that when I turn off the chip and turn the box on it gives me that "you need serivce error"..
So I'm just gonna get a new box(Halo LE maybe?) and use that one for live, and not have to turn my chip off at all.
And I agree replacing the EEPROM does not seem hard it just looks time consuming and none of my friends have modded boxs and are all on live and I don't really feel like buying one from a stranger..
I NEED SOME HELP
Hey guys
I'm pretty new to the whole xbox modded hardware and software stuff and the other day I was a retard and accidently hit live when my chip was on. I have Avalaunch for my dash and in this tutorial it only shows how to make a back up of an eeprom with the evox backup utilty. In the tutorial it says you have to back it up and send it to the DATA folder in the configmagic before you load it on your xbox. I have no idea where to find my eeprom.bin file on my avalaunch dash. When you replace the eeprom file in the DATA folder, do I replace with the banned one? Or a new unbanned one? I did get the configmagic loaded on my xbox but skipped the step of replacing the one in the DATA folder and I made some backups with menu options but I don't know if those are backups of the banned eeprom on my box or jsut backups of the eeprom that came with configmagic? Can someone please help me.
PM me, email me at [email protected], or add a reply to this.
Thanks!

Woah.. I wish I could understand that
Sorry about it being all wierd.
Um let me see. I just loaded EvoX as an app on Avalaunch. I made a backup and found the eeprom.bin file. I replaced the one in the configmagic folder with it and put it on my xbox. I think I could do the other steps but I was wondering where the unbanned eeprom comes in?
You have to find an unbanned eeprom somewhere and then you replace it so when you upload it back to your xbox it will then have the new eeprom.
Hey,
Shanafan, you might wanna fix up your tutorial. It says to replace the eeprom.bin in the DATA file with the one you generate in the evox backup utility. The one that it generates is the banned old one. You want to replace the one in the DATA file with the new unbanned one. That's what mixed me up.

That's what I thought at first too, but it says "GETTING THE EEPROM FILE FROM THE UNBANNED XBOX". The first 3 steps are for getting the new EEPROM. If you have already purchased or acquired one you don't need the first 3 steps.
And shanafan I thought I'd tell you I ended up replacing my EEPROM instead of getting a new xbox.. I just didn't have $150 bucks to spend right now.. The only problem is that after I replaced the file my live account was gone.. Will it come back with account recovery or is it stored on the old EEPROM or something?

What do you mean old EEPROM? Is it the same one in your Xbox? If it is a different set of numbers for the EEPROM, then sure (if it isn't banned).
It may be a backup, but it is the still the same set of numbers

PIN please. By the way, if you are getting IP 0.0.0.0 after successfully flashed with new eeprom, you may need to assign different IP if static or let the router choose the IP if Dynamic. Your previous IP and MAC address will not work no more and if you don't change that you can't connect. You need to know alittle bit about networking too. Ok. Back on LIVE again. no more fooling around . |
How exactly Do I do that? I thought I was banned and turned out not to be, so I put my old eeprom.bin back in and now on the bottom left of my screen where the I.P. shjould be, it has like 0.0.0.0 errorx or somtehin like that.
Can someone Pm or e-mail me what to do?

Also: Should I cancel my Xbox Live account already? Will I just have to sign up with a new one? |
Yes, you need to softmod. And, Xbox Live doesn't ban accounts, just the EEPROM.
thats waht ive been asking around::is it possible to change eeproms on a 1.6?
I know that a 1.6 cant run config magic, so dont even try, you could mess things up pretty badly. But i need to know if such a utility exists, because i sure as hell dont want to buy/install a programmer
please help us 1.6 owners!
i just downloaded a unbanned eeprom.bin and i used configmajic and after i restarted my xbox the s\n was 00000000000000 and the mac address was 0000000000000 do i need manualy type it? and is it normal
I think I have found the way to flash your 1.6 xbox with an unbanned eeprom but it needs another non 1.6 modded xbox in most cases.
1. Get cromwell-patched.bin and addeeprom.exe and an unbanned eeprom.bin
2. Backup the eeprom of this non 1.6 xbox first to somewhere
3. Load the unabnned eeprom on the non 1.6 xbox using configmagic
4. Modify on-the-fly the eeprom to fit the region setting of your 1.6 xbox
5. Flash the unbanned eeprom to the non 1.6 xbox
6. Backup the unbanned eeprom to somewhere other than step 2.
7. Copy the eeprom from step 6 to your pc.
8. Run on your pc: addeeprom.exe cromwell-patched.bin eeprom.bin
9. Upload the cromwell-patched.bin to your 1.6 xbox
10. Flash your bios of the 1.6 xbox with the cromwell-patched.bin
11. You should see a message saying successfully flash the eeprom shortly
12. Flash your bios of your 1.6 xbox to whatever you want
13. Flash back your non 1.6 xbox using the eeprom from step 2
All set.
Please try it at your own risk. I have not tested it myself but it should work.
Sorry, there is an error coz the cromwell-patched.bin won't boot on 1.6. If someone is able to find a working cromwell-patched.bin then this method may work.

does all the data covered on the 1st page still apply with all the new suggested banning mods
Okay I dont understand..
I transfered configmagic to my xbox hd.. then transfered the new eeprom over to the data dir.. then on my xbox I explored to that dir.. but I can not see anything to start up config magic with no xbe files or anything..... how do I load it up??
the xbe should not be in the data dir, its in the root folder.
redownload and try executing the program from your ftp client. be sure to back up your eeprom first.
Ahhh crap.. I think I made a boo boo.. I put in the new eeprom when my new HDD in my xbox.. and it turns on okay and all... so I hooked up my original HDD to see if live worked again and the xbox light went red and said my box needed service.. I put the large drive back on and it was fine.. should I have done it with my original drive and just reformated my large drive? anyway I can fix this. ?
Yup....that's how you do it.
you'll probably need a new stock hard drive as well. Popular theory is that you hard drive is being banned along with your eeprom. I got back on live with both of these new.
well XBL worked when I had my chip off and bigger HD locked....shouldnt have even tried to put my factory one back in....so XBL doesnt work cause I put my factory back in....getting a new eeprom....but shouldnt it be fine if I just use the new eeprom and my bigger HD....since its not the one that was in when XBL started being GAY?!?!
HOLLA!!!!
Perfect tutorial at the beginning of the thread, would help alot if config magic supported v1.6 xboxes. I didn't read the whole thread cause its 3:06am and Im tired. I have a banned v1.6 xbox with smartxx chip, I also have a 1.1 xbox that has never been on live but I gave it to my nephew that will never use live. How can I use the eeprom from the 1.1 xbox on my 1.6 xbox. What eeprom app supports 1.6 xboxes?

The theory is that you've screwed yourself by getting your original eeprom, your big hd and your stock hd all banned. Oh, you've got your gamertag flagged as well and will need a new one if you want to use a big hd on live too.
The Halo 2/Nov 9th XBL Bannings - AKA Marriage TheoryFrom what I can tell, you only get banned if you swap your HD *after* you first go onto XBL with a given Xbox.
If you're planning to upgrade an Xbox's HD, you need to do it before you first connect it to XBL.
But if you didn't do your upgrade before you signed on to XBL with that Xbox the first time, then you depending on the dates you did sign on, you might have to change your harddrive AND eeprom! Or you could just get another xbox and leave it stock

And finally, remember to use an XBL blocking BIOS so you don't get banned for having an active modchip!

Hi guys
I have a problem on flashing a new EEPROM on my XBOX for unbanning it. I was banned 3 days agom 24h after I played Halo 2 on Live sad.gif . Now I have prepared an original HD with Slayers 2.6 and I have a new EEPROM. I tried to flash the EEPROM using ConfigMagic following the tutorial but when I select "load EEPROM from a .bin file" it shows this error message: "EEPROM ENCRYPTED REGION INVALID" sad.gif . The EEPROM is from a backup made by Ldots 1.7.5 so I think it's all right. My friend tried to send it twice just in case the first file was damaged but SAME ERROR. My Xbox is a V1.0, the EEPROM is from a V1.6 is that the problem?
Thanks for your help
ok....so me like an idoit....had two xbox's ftp'd into...and i grabbed the .bin file from the wrong xbox...so i updated it with the same shiznit...but anyway....everything was fine.... So I returned to evox menu after using Config Magic on my box....Then I turned it off, turned off the chip, and tried to access Live, which of course didn't work, so i turned the xbox off. I realized the problem and tried to turn the xbox back on to start over with the FTP, and I got nothin, nothin but the god dam MS Dash I paid $80 bucks to never se again. So Now I can't get my Evox Dash to boot....after checkin the ribbon and the switch 80 times over. Any Ideas....I have had problems with the ribbon before...but always got evox back up within three tries...And I'm nowcounting like 50+. PLEASE HELP
And also what happens if people with the same eeprom are using XBL at the same time.......
Just curious...and if that never happens can two box's use live with the same eeprom....excluding the marriage Theory
new EEPROM is only a temp fix, you will get rebanned after 24hrs or so in most cases.
I used config magic final to update my eeprom with a new unbanned eeprom, but now when i boot up, it won't load my original games and dumps me straight to my EvoX dash. Both EEPROMs and my games are R4.

does it unbann you from matchmaking?
If you are banned from Xbox Live, you will need an unbanned EEPROM since MS bans your EEPROM if you access Xbox Live with your modchip on. Getting a new, unbanned Xbox can be achieved by getting it from a friend's Xbox, or seeing if a website is selling them.
EEPROM is a chip on your Xbox's motherboard. EvolutionX creates a file, EEPROM.BIN, which contains the readings of the EEPROM.
If you replace your Xbox HD with a different HD, the EEPROM does not change, because it is a chip on the XBox's motherboard.
Configmagic Final is a Xbox application that runs on your Xbox.
GETTING THE EEPROM FILE FROM THE UNBANNED XBOX
1. In EvolutionX, do the "Backup" command in the Utilities menu. It will generate files about your Xbox specs.
2. FTP in your Xbox, or use a file manager tool, and in C:\\Backup, you will find a file called EEPROM.BIN
3. FTP that to your PC HD or remember its location for future reference.
SETTING UP THE FILE FOR CONFIGMAGIC FINAL FOR THE BANNED XBOX
1. Once you have Configmagic Final loaded onto your HD or on your PC, there will be a directory in it called DATA.
2. Move the EEPROM.BIN file, that EvolutionX generated, into that DATA directory, overwriting the EEPROM.BIN file that is already there.
3. If you are making a Configmagic Final CD, you can now make the ISO of it and burn it. Xbox HD users, don't worry.
RUNNING CONFIGMAGIC FINAL
1. Load up Configmagic Final.
2. A warning screen will be shown, press "A" to bypass it.
3. When Configmagic Final finally loads, it will show your current EEPROM on your Xbox. Make a note of the DVD KIT ZONE and VIDEO AND XBE REGION information.
"NTSC, Region 1" for US Xbox gamers
"PAL, Region 4" for UK Xbox gamers
4. Select "LOAD XBOX EEPROM" in the menu.
5. Select "UNLOCK HD" in the menu.
6. Load the EEPROM.BIN file in the DATA directory by choosing "LOAD EEPROM FROM .BIN FILE"
7. If you see that the VIDEO AND XBE REGION information is different, you MUST change it. Go into the menu and choose "ON-THE-FLY EDIT EEPROM". Change the VIDEO AND XBE REGION number to the proper information of your former EEPROM.
8. Now, select "UPDATE XBOX EEPROM" in the menu.
9. Your Xbox's EEPROM will now be updated with the file in the DATA directory.
10. In the menu, select "LOAD XBOX EEPROM". You will notice your EEPROM is now different! Success
11. Select "LOCK HD" from the menu.
12. Select "EXIT CONFIGMAGIC" in the menu.
IMPORTANT TIPS
- If you were using the XBOX DVD KIT to play DVDs, and the Xbox gives an error about region, load up Configmagic and change the DVD KIT ZONE number to the number of your previous EEPROM. UNLOCK the HD, choose "ON-THE-FLY EDIT EEPROM" in the menu and simply change the DVD KIT ZONE number. Then, UPDATE XBOX EEPROM and LOCK HD. Exit Configmagic.
- You can view any Xbox EEPROM using your PC by getting Liveinfo PC program. It will show all the details of an EEPROM.BIN file. You might find it easier to edit any possible changes to your DVD KIT ZONE or VIDEO AND XBE REGION using the program, rather ON-THE-FLY EDIT EEPROM in Configmagic.
- Sometimes, with a PAL EEPROM, your Xbox's time might be wrong or video settings will be different. Go into the MS dash and change the settings to the way you seem fit
- Always be sure to use the most current version of Configmagic. The current version is:
Configmagic Final

Yes, the MAC address is different in each EEPROM
Is it okay to modify the XBE & Video Region of the new eeprom? Wouldn't MS be able to detect that XBE & Video Region has been changed from the original in your new eeprom and ban you again?
I guess not. Thus why you have on the fly eeprom edit if you happen to get a new PAL eeprom and wanna use in NTSC system.

"NTSC, Region 1" for US Xbox gamers "PAL, Region 4" for UK Xbox gamers |
Is it possible to use XBOX-Live if I change my EEPROM to "NTSC, Region 4" or will MS ban my XBOX, because this is no regular combination?
The advantage of "NTSC, Region 4" would be, that you can play most PAL-Games with HDTV support. If you use the regular "PAL, Region 4" settings the dashboard doesn't offer HDTV settings.
i want to instal a new hd
and box has never been on live Yet!!!
do i still need to load my eeprom,to lock my drive?

Yes, the new HD has to be locked, but since your Xbox hasn't been on Live, no worries about your EEPROM. Just be sure to use Xbox Live with your modchip off.

If you changed your EEPROM to "NTSC, Region 4", I would expect some bad video quality when your Xbox boots after the change. Since there is no such value.
I suggest you don't do it.

I already did it and it works fine - no video problems at all. Most PAL games are working with HDTV support this way - even if the modchip is turned off. I don't know of any other solution to get that result.
The only thing I am afraid of, is to use XBOX Live, because I don't know if MS will ban my XBOX if they detect a non intended combination of videomode and regional code. Is anyone able to take away my fears, because he succesfully tried XBOX Live with that setting already? Or do all other european HDTV/VGA users switch back to RGB for XBOX Live?

Oh, I see what you mean now about the video setting, I read it too fast before.
But anyways, I would still say it will be a risk about signing onto Live with the modified EEPROM that has a setting that a stock EEPROM wouldn't have.
thanks shanafan
... kinda confusing but i can do it, a big TY to shanafan
Something that concerns me is that as I have a Japanese Xbox, Config magic reports the region as "UNKNOWN - region 2".
I have made a backup and moved it to the /Data folder for config magic (just in case) but I wonder if config magic really understands this version?

If it displays everything else correctly, then just edit the region to your region.
Damn fucking straight how the FUCK did you figure that out...
I'm seroiusly gonna donate a SHITLOAD of cash to this site.
I deleted the posts in this about finding Configmagic.

It is "pinned".
Its under "Tutorials About Xbox Live On A Modded Xbox"
you need to boot evox from a cd and restore your old eeprom, then unlock your hard drive.
After that, you can lock it with your new eeprom.

UH oH!!! I think i screwed my box up! flashed my eeprom but now i have a biger problem... error code 6
says it is a hard drive problem. could it be that by falshing my eeprom its to the mobo but doesn't flash the hard drive? so now my hd is not compatible? this sucks... |
The EEPROM that your HD was locked with doesn't match the EEPROM on your Xbox's motherboard.
So, did you switch hard drives?
Ok ... for my very first post <trumpets sounding> I've got a problem. After carefully following the tutorial (a thousand thanks shanafan), everything changed correctly in config magic. After locking the hd and powering down, turning off the chip, and booting to M$ dash, i got hit with the network troubleshooter. Everything checked out, but it said it was unable to connect to live. I also noticed that the S/N didn't show up in the troubleshooter. But its displayed in config magic. What went wrong?
I have retried this 3 times, and each time I load my old EEPROM up, the S/N is displayed. But then I load the new one, it does not. Does this indicate that the EEPROM is bad?
| QUOTE (bho76 @ Sep 23 2003, 12:19 PM) |
| ok fixed it... used atapwd to unlock my drive.. it worked... I tried using a boot cd of evox but that wouldn't work as well. but im good to go now.. can i lock my drive using evox now? jsut curios. or is there somewhere i have to put the backup on my hd? |
You can lock your HD using the new version of EvolutionX, 3921. Or, you can lock it using Configmagic.
What about a backup?
sorry theres one thing i dont get... it says to replace the eeprom.bin file in the configmagic data folder witht he one that evox generated... isnt that replacing it wit the one thats already banned... arent u supposed to replace it wit the new one u got that isnt banned.... maybe i am not readint it right and i am being a tard...thanx

Well I did a little edit. I was meaning the unbanned EEPROM from the Xbox it is on. I hope the new edit makes it a little more clear
yea ok thanx... just got banned the other day.... dont think i logged on wit my chip on and they still caught me.... and disconnecting the network cable every time is too much work....i bought xbox live last year and and have played on it maybe 3 or 4 times....but when halo 2 and other good games come out i am on this whole new eeprom thing
Does the version of your xbox matter? I have a banned 1.0 eeprom, which I want to install to my 1.1 xbox (so I can save my unbanned eeprom for future use and from accidently banning
I've loaded up Liveinfo and changed the region and country/dvd thingies, but there is also a drop down box to choose the xbox version. Does this matter? I did change it from 1.0 to 1.1, so this should be all ok to just flash? My drive is already unlocked and I don't need to lock it right now, so it will stay unlocked.
Cheers,
Josh

Configmagic Final allows any version Xbox EEPROM to be used on any version Xbox.
So, no worries

Get Liveinfo for your PC from www.xbox-scene.com's tools page.
Open the EEPROM and try to edit the file to: (First make backup!)
Region 1, NTSC
Then, put that in the data folder and try to load.
Oh boy,
i loaded config magic and was changing my eeprom, when i guess i had screwed up and the new eeprom did not load. now the old eeprom is still there but the hdd is not locked. then i went upstairs and came back down and noticed that the screen changed and it said to Hit x to load dashboard, me being a genious, decided to power off and now everytime i boot up, i get the screen that says xbox requires service, and there are no error numbers anywhere on the screen and the eject button is flashing red/green. I don't think its my chip because i have had it for a long time, its the xtender 29 wire with a switch. I kept trying to boot my evox disc, but no luck. some please help me, i have been off of live for over a year and i was so close to getting back on!!
ps, the thing i noticed about my new eeprom that i tried to put on was that, for the hdd sn and key, it was blank....maybe thats why i had a problem?
please help with any suggestions
thanks
i have looked at the tutorial for this but i get lost between the sections "setting up the file for configmagic for the banned xbox" - i have done this - and section "running configmagic"
where do i need to install configmagic in order to use it on my box?
i downloaded it from mirc and i got the following:
Data - folder
Media - folder
configmagic - configuration settings
default.xbe
readme
xboxemu - msinfo doc.
is this all i need to run configmagic?
please help asap,im very confused...
thanks,
Stew.
You put it on C, E, or F. It does not matter. As long as you can get it to load.
were these saves on the hdd? I wonder if you save them to a mem card and change eeprom if they still get corrupt. I'll bet they don't.
hello, and thank you for your time. My question is reguarding the problem that is occuring with my xbox. I wanted to upgrade the harddisk so i unlocked the original and backed it up using hdd driver on win2k. i used hex workshop to prepare the new harddrive. and hdd driver detected it as an xbox harddrive, and allowed me to load the backup bin i created from the original hd. i then locked it with hdlock and attempted to boot it from my xbox. All I got was an ms error screen telling me to have my xbox serviced. and a red light blinking on eject button.
So somehow the upgrade failed so i was like its ok, was worth a shot i'll just go back to the original harddrive after i lock it with hdlock.
so i locked the original and tried to boot, but i'm having the same problem as with the new disk. ms service screen red light flashing.
and on top of all that i'm not even getting an error number on the ms service screen.
could someone please help me...
p.s. i can still lock and unlock harddrive with hdunlock/hdlock or unlockx.

| I just got banned from xbox live for the 4th time. I have ran out of people to get eeproms from. I have config magic and i was wondering if there is a way to make up an eeprom from scratch. If you could help me out that would be great. Thanks. |
No. BTW, just ask your question once.. I see pretty much everything posted on this Live board, and the same question in a topic/post/PM is too much.
Must be pinned!!!
instead of pinning a bunch of tuts shanafan grouped them into one pinned topic... "Pinned:: Tutorials About Xbox Live On A Modded Xbox"
so it's pinned...
xbox dead, good question.
Since the MAC address is actually encoded in the EEPROM (not hardcoded into the mobo), both will have the same MAC (which you knew)
If both Xboxes are running, you will probably get an error on your network about two devices using the same MAC.
So, it will work, just have one Xbox running when the other one is off. Don't run both at the same time.
| QUOTE |
| If I record the MAC address from the banned Xbox, update it with the non-banned eeprom and edit the MAC address to its original could that work? Could I then run them both on the same LAN? |
If you change a setting on the unbanned EEPROM, Live will recognize the EEPROM. Your best bet is to follow my above suggestion.
Use the same EEPROM on both Xboxes, but don't have both Xboxes on at the same time.
hey man thanks for the tut everythign worked fine!! xbox live is awsome an hope i dont lose it again...but atleast if i do ill know where to turn!
