You're confusing a couple of things. if you swap your hdd, your eeprom is still in the xbox so they could still ban you based on it. And i know you need a locked hdd to even get on live so i don't think you'd even be able to sign on. Its just when you do lock your drive so that you can play live with modchip off that key is based on the eeprom, but swapping the hdd doesn't affect the eeprom in any way.

I agreed with mrRobinson. Recently i heard M$ starting to ban MAC address as well so it doesn't matter if you replaced non-banned eeprom from a friends system or not.

As long as M$ detects either software/hardware modification on your box, they will ban you.

I have also read that some members have luck running on live with TSOP flashed systems.

I think it a matter of time when M$ update another patch of Live software and find out.

If you connect to live with chip on, you will definately get banned. You don't need to find that out.

you dont have to have your modchip turned off to play live though. and if you didnt have it off, you could play on a hdd thats not locked...right??? thats what im asking...

If you use live with a hacked bios (i.e. modchip or flashed tsop or bios loader) you will get banned. The only way to not be banned is to not use a hacked bios.
