Title: Xbox Live With Unlocked Hd

No, your HD has to be locked to use the Xbox when the modchip is off, because the original BIOS is loaded at startup.

If the HD is not locked, you will get an error message

So how do you lock the hdd? I have a new drive installed. I have yet to try Xbox live.  More importantly how do you change it back and forth to play online and then play backups. I know about changing the .xbe file name back to msdash.xbe and switching my x2l off. But I will have to lock and unlock the hdd often, in order to ftp, play and play online?  None of the tutorials answer questions about locking and unlocking efficiently. Thanks.
