Do I need special settings on my pc for this? Or is it just "plug and play"? Thanks again.

Yeap, follow the instructions on connecting the Xbox to the PC via a crossover cable as if the cable modem does not exist.
Then after you have it running you can run the Internet Connection sharing wizard and gain a double benefit... Your Xbox can access the internet and XBLive this way!
Once you've run the wizard you'll need to tell the Xbox to use DHCP though.

It's not part of the MS Manual, which BTW you can download from their site.
Have you considered looking at the tutorials on the front page?

Dude, thanks! That is exactly what I needed. I was worried that I would have to have evolution x running for it to work, but this shows that I don't. Thanks again opjose for the help also.
