they both do the same thing .. they each go about it their own way .. try them both .. theirs a ton of threads like this one "which one should i use!!?" , just try them both ..

It really is a personal preference

Halo/Halo2 is almost always XBC as the answer
Almost every other game Xlink is the place

Also more internationals in Xlink ( as TD was UK if I'm not mistakened, large user base there) , XBC is mainly USA users. Both have chat, both have the same games supported on the xbox, both have their little perks, lag is about the same on each, as it's mostly connection based and less program, as they're both optimized. Download both try them out. I've got Xlink and I've got XBC, need to try out the XMelee if that one's still going around, it was pretty strong for a bit here....
