Ok, well first you don't have to remove the HD to lock it anymore, you can use a prog called config magic for your xbox. Just run the program and it's pretty self-explanatory.

And no you do not have to keep locking and unlocking the drive, just lock it once and your good to go. You can still use the F drive when it is locked.

I wouldn't suggest switching between your new HD and the original because unless you have a case mod where you have a drive selector and everything it would just be sitting outside the case and you don't really want to have all the parts exposed, itcould screw some things up. Plus it would be quite a hassle to switch those around manually all the time.

Locking makes it useable only on that xbox, it makes it so it needs a password to use the drive.

and unlock your original drive before u take it out.. just incase u ever want it in anything besides that xbox.. its very quick and could same u some time l8r..

Although ConfigMagic sets a master password of "TEAMASSEMBLY".
