I installed a chip in my friends xbox a VERY long time ago. I said yeah, it works with xbox live and everything (because back then it did). He ended up getting banned because xbox live doesnt allow modchips anymore :\ And now he wants me to buy a new xbox. right now, i cannot afford $200 because of the christmas season
the worst part about this is that me and him are mates from way back too and it seems he rathers his xbox than my friendship but i would love to surprise him w. a new eeprom and get him back in action. im at a loss of what to do. thanks for all your help exstaci.

great idea, but i don't think the bios is cached. like the PC's bios, it's not cached unless you go into CMOS options and tell it to cache it. I believe xbox's "option" that you obviously can't change is that it's not cached. good idea, but don't think it will work

well you're probalby not doing much modding to be banned from live if you don't know what an eeprom is. it stores your serial, and other special keys that hte xbox uses. settings and stuff too, but just go look it up, i'm too lazy to type in it all.

Ever since I was a wee lad my friends and family would call me the wee "fat chubby one." It's hard growing up in a society where everything is about looks and where one person is more important than someone else. But then came that awesome beautiful day, when I....I met you guys online.... It changed everything for me. When I heard on Xbox live I skipped the whole day of work to go to future store to get it. But the employees there said "Sorry you wee fat man we have no hambones in the back for you...." Well that just sizzled my temper....you know that kind of sizzling the oven makes when you fry the fat greasy bacon for to long, and it starts to swell up into a poptart lookin......oh yeah sorry, ummmm..... Anyways when I finally got live, I was banned for I desperately rushed into quickly, and had used my friends xbox up to this point. But now he wants it back, and I have no live to race motogp on....I'm stuck, and I understand that you (exstazi) are giving up something that we all treasure. I don't believe I am the perfect candidate for the eeprom your giving away and I believe you should keep it. but if you were to give it away it may give someone like myself a chance to get back onine and playing with people that do not judge me for for how I look. So if you could find it in your heart to lend it [email protected] I'd greatly appreciate it and would give it back anytime you wanted it back, you can count on my word. I'm going to be messing on a new xbox with x-ecuter2 soon (if they ever ship the mod chips...). Plan to implement a miniature relay (or 2) on a single switch which will automatically swap my xbox net connection from pier to cross-over if I switch on the mod.
This will prevent going online (unless you mess with other hardware purposely, such as with my wireless bridge, cause it has both connection modes available) with the mod switch turned on. It will also allow head to head direct connect with the mod on.
Knowing me....I'll screw it up, or maybe not. Could pass it on to some less informed, or less furtunate, or back to you if I don't need it.

If I were able to obtain a clean eeprom I would try to futher the Eeprom clone experiement by trying to get my friend and I online at the same time. It's worth a shot and would help cover over the $60 wound MS left me from beta days.
Anyway, that's my sad tale congrats to whoever you end up choosing.

actually, I was not a beta tester, I had a perfectly unbanned xbox when live came out. But I came to this scene and read objose and all the others stating that its all right to play live on ur xbox w/ modchip on. I decided to wait a little and see if maybe any changes occurred to this thought. I had a X-cuter modchip and no switch so I was very hesitant on doing this. But all these people exclaimed it would be safe and people like me are over worrying. So I had updated my xbox dash with my modchip on thinking it was allright. Im sure many others did the same, but it did let me on to play live. Why I did not through a switch onto (MY) xbox is because the factory that shipped it to me had already presoldered the switch area bridge together, and deslodering in my case was out of the question cause I'd wreck it or something. (It was an X-cuter v1.1 or something) I was just lucky enough to get it in. (Mainly for the fact I busted my first xbox with an 29 sloder point enigma modchip by accident. ( I was an idiot then) but now my xbox is fitted with a switch for I had taken the time to learn how to desolder the bridge and I run EvoX and NeXgen off of cdrw. I know now how not to get banned with the eeprom and strange enough everything it set perfectly. Extazi I understand you are giving yours away. And to many people that is a huge cost comsumption to buy a new xbox. Well like them I had no choice but to give my friends xbox back and I am now left with my banned xbox. I would honestly appreciate it if you considered me for the eeprom and I know what it is like without one. I'm not being dramatic, I just wanted to be truthful. everyone here I stratically wanting this epprom, including ArMaGeDdOn and all the others. My email is [email protected] if you have any questions and I am extremely thankful that someone like you would give this eeprom out for someone else.
P.S. I am in no way blaming Objose or anyone in the forum for my banned xbox, I am just explaining my situation in its entire form and appreciate the work the had done......
