ummm id suggest a slayers boot disc or an evox boot disc, but I dont think it will work on a non modded box. (suggesting that the install has not worked properly)
This one is a tuff one....... I'm sure that it can be fixed, I just dont know how find someone else who has modded their box like you were trying to and swap the hard drives over. Boot it up, use a slayers disc, hot swap the hdd's and do a reinstall.
No idea if this will actuall work. Maybe someone else could help you out more.

When you and your friend were doing this, did you happen to backup your eeprom? That is the first thing you should do, because if you back it up, no matter what happens, it is fixable. Most likely, the HDD is unlocked. When you try and boot it, do you get an error code? (Top left corner) If so, what is it? 5? 21? Another possibility is he installed the fonts to a new dashboard that is un exploitable. If your xbox is new, it could have the newer kernel which doesn't allow downgrading your dash (rendering the exploits unusable.) Catch me online through one of the contact options (below this post) and I will gladly help. Most important to know is the error code and if you backed up your eeprom. How did you try and apply the exploit? Hotswap or gamesave hack? (Did he actually remove the hdd with the xbox on, or did he use a memory card?) Good luck.

Do you have any cathodes in your xbox? Becuase my inverter made my HDD beap and turn off randomly.

deathreaper, if you would like you could send your xbox to me (what version is it anyhow?) and I could TSOP flash it for you (depends on if you'll ever use live or what) or at least reinstall a new stock HDD into it for you. If you'd rather do it yourself I can send you a stock unlocked HDD for $15 but you'd have to mod the system and know how to relock it.

other than the obvious -that my hdd timed out - i have no idea what it means, its significance, or if it is repairable - thanks for the offers, but please inform me more about this '07 error' - thanks

the 07 error means that the motherboard cannot get ahold of the information it needs off the HDD, which means the IDE cable is bad or the HDD is shot, pretty simple error really.

go buy an ide cable at a computer store. btw, did you do a hotswap to get your exploit on there? that could have killed the drive.

Gawd this should be posted right UNDER the mod tutorials to alert everyone that the Xbox power supply is too anemic!
