I am having a problem linking two xbox's together to play Halo 2 via system link. I am using a crossover cable to link them together. After starting Halo 2 and trying to sign in to a game, I get an error that says you are not able to join, please try again later. Both xbox's are running an originial version of Halo 2 and the map packs. One xbox is modded and the other is not. I have tried different crossover cables and that is not the problem.
Now playing Halo 1, there is no problem at all. Everything works as advertised. Even on a network.
Both xbox's have been hooked up to other xbox's and have had no problems joining a game in Halo 2. When hooked up to a router with another xbox (for a total of three), one xbox can join a game with the new xbox, but the other one cannot. And vice-versa, if the other xbox joins up to the new xbox, then the previous one that was connected cannot join a game.
I've tried reinstalling the map packs to see if that was an issue, but it did not help.
Where I'm located, I cannot get onto xbox live or Bungie Studios website based on the security of the network.
Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, that was confusing... I had to read it twice
But, yeah... sounds like you're pretty screwed.

Were you running Halo2 v1.1 on your modded xbox with a debug bios?
