If the ppl you are playing with aren't very good, and thats all you do to them, then yeah it does get cheap, but if your playing with other ppl that are equal to your skill or better then its not.

youve never been stuck in a matchmaking game? i find that hard to believe, unless you only play btb... after rippons montage people were going crazy for sticks, its what every midship match turned into with one jackass with the sword...
Eventhough rockets, PP/BR combo, and to some extent the sword are extremely effective at getting kills, i do not use them because i find no satisfaction in killing people with them in slayer type games. In CTF it is another story, because kills is not what is important.
I play whole matches without a single shot, just stickies. I dont think its cheap, I think its a challenge to win a match without a bullet fired....Ya it pisses people off, any one hit kill does, but at least it requires skill, unlike the rocket launcher.

I dont think thats really true. I learned some halo skills by playing with people that owned my ass. I think the payoff is when you can catch up to them and put up a good fight, regardless of how good they are at sniping or whatever else.
sticking is awesome if your good at. I had a guy who obtained 37kills in a swords match by sticking

It's not cheap, it's hard as hell.. when you're playing good people. noobs tend to run in straight lines. We have a rule in my house, once you hit >40 kills in a TS game and the other team is not going to catch up, we yell "stickies only" (often playing on >1 xbox so we have to yell) and that's how you have to end the match (or melee).
I wish there was a special "double kill" for when they're both stickies. Or when a person you stick runs to their partner and they both die.
To be honest I think the only reason I still play is for cool sticky moves
I don't believe sticking is cheap, but I do believe that it is 10x easier to stick someone in Halo 2 than in 1. Sticking someone in Halo 2 means you're not a n00b, while sticking someone in Halo 1 either means you are really good or really lucky.
i agree...halo 1 took alot more skill with grenades...and pretty much everything else as a matter of fact...but with the new AU, sword whores have a challenge against the shotgun
Nah it takes some skill to stick the person. I like energy swords the best.

When stickies are okay:
1. Sword coming at you, you know you're going to die. Sticky is the best way to take him out, too.
2. Any time you can stick someone without them seeing you, or from a distance. That's just plain impressive!
When stickies are lame:
When people are point blank and they stick you when you're trying to melee them. They're basically giving up and killing the both of you. I will never stick someone close range unless i'm positive i'm not gonna win.

Ok, I'll admit sticking does take skill, but it is extremley annoying!! I have a friend who cant out Battle-Rifle me or my friends so he just throws a grenade and sticks us.
