just wondering. i am sure there is for xbconnect or live. but i am not sure if a local house lan.

cons of hosting a lan at your house? or being the host on xbc or something?
cons of hosting a lan at your house are that people comeover, expect food, drinks and entertainment without providing anything to you except a mess...
thankfully i live in an appartment and dont have space to host one... otherwise id have them all the time as they are so much fun...

Usually we go in together for several pizzas. Its nice, b/c when you play custom games on live people only stick around for one or two games, but on a lan you know the people won't be leaving after one game. Its a lot more fun to whoop on people you know.

LANs are just a lot more fun that XBL, mainly cuz the ppl are right there next to you.

Well I have a modded box and a Live only box, with 4 televisions in the apartment, so its easy for a couple of my friends to bring their boxes over. One of the guys at college here borrowed one of the school's projectors. My other friend brough his DJ surround sound. It rocked.

Pro: You can choose the gametypes
Con: You clean up the mess afterwards
Con: Some babies will quit if you play a gametype they don't like

I host a 12-16 box LAN every month. Its the best way to play, and most of the regulars I only know through Halo and only see at game night.
I've been considering setting up an xbox LAN party Rental company, where you xxx amount and we provide all the hardware (and gamers if requested).
