what do you mean by "trying to get good" by using the rockets, snipers and swords? if you are good you wouldnt have to use the easy kill weapons to advance in rank right?

halo2 online is way too rank oriented... people with a slightly higher rank than you actually think they are better, when its really in the volume of games you play... i can maybe play 5 games a day, so my rank doesnt change that quickly... but the people who play like 40 games a day possibly change rank multiple times a day, assuming they are anywhere near good...

in summary, dont worry about your rank and dont purposfully go for the 'cheap' weapons to win... have fun, its a game... rank whores ruin matches...

*dont get me wrong though, there is nothing wrong with using rockets, swords or the sniper... a good player can overcome them anyway...

If you can get the rocket, sniper and sword.. More power to ya. It's partly their fault if they allow you to get the stuff every time, and their fault that they dont try to get it for themselves. People just tend to make excuses for why they lost when in reality they are just inferior players.

The sniper rifle can be very annoying in the hands of a good sniper, but it takes skill to be good with it. The rocket launcher is strong, but reload times are it's weakness. The sword can be killed easily form mid range. people just have to learn how to deal with different enimeies.

Well my stats in my sig is only for a few days I didn't bother to update it. I have like a 2.9 K/D rating now that was just for glitches that ranks pretty much. Anyways I play with mostly alot of old people I know from XBC. I pretty much have most the top people on my friends list

I wish they would make the ranking system a little different.  I usually play with a bunch of (Real life) friends in Team slayer games, so they are unranked games.  I consider myself to be very good at the game, and me and my friends have taken home a few tourny wins, but you would never know by our ranks.  Im a 5 or 6, and so are most of my friends.  Needless to say, when we finally get the ambition to play a ranked game, there is no fun in it at all.

its all part of the game. sometimes having those weapons are the only way to win. u cant expect everyone u play with to play "fair" by not using a rocket, sword or sniper. especially in matchmade games. 9 out of 10 times someone is always going for one of those weapons. sometimes its really the only way to win. take assult on burial mounds for example. the only way to win that is have a guy with a rocket n sword guy tear everybody up in the base n plant the bomb. sometiems that doesnt even work.

people that complain u won by using cheap weapons shouldnt really be talking. most of them would probably use that weapon against u if u didnt have it. but like gcskate27 said try to use other guns beside them. once u get to level 20 and up, things just get tougher

sniper rifles are good, if u dont camp, rockets, they are for shit bastards, onyl good for taking down vehicles, because its funny even if ur driving. the sword, i dont use because they are easy kills, but u cant complain about it because if ur good u know how to avoid being killed by them

its not cheating, strictly speaking, but it is cheap, as soooo many people have no defense for those weapons... playing rumble pit and team slayer annoys the hell out of me because so many people cant deal with the sword, so whoever gets it first generally wins... i can deal with the sword, but it seems that every time is see the guy, someone spawns behind me and goes after me, so i die, by either one, and the sword whore gets him*... fucking people...

*same goes for vehicles...

the only annoying vehicle is the ghost, if they keep u at bay whilst firing at u, ur gonna die without being able hijack them, or u can keep running sideways and lob a grenade behind him nocking him close to u, u can then hijack or u can waste him whilst hes spinning. warthog is easier to take down if u see it comeing, just equip a shotgun get close as u can and shoot the driver, lob a grenade jump and kill the gunner, if theres a passenger he wont stand mush damage as the grenade will have taken off sum shield then just waste him. the banshee takes 1/2 shots at close range to kill the driver, and to get close just crouch behind sumthing and they will drive near u, pop up and hijack them. anti vehicle tactics. not played against the spectre yet, the wraith and tank are nub vehicles

Best way to take out swordsman... plasma pistol!  The best defense against these weapons is to not get caught in a situation where you have a very likely chance of dieing.  I am talkin like going mid range against a rocket launcher guy with an SMG or running around with the sniper on lockout looking for the sword guy.  Also most of the time, a good thrown grenade or two can get you out of any situation.

I agrea the only thing I would change would be is to make the sword take damage like in the game.

The thing that agrivates me is getting ranked down due to a team full of retards.  Somtimes I will play 3 or 4 games in a row and loose all 4.  The reason for the loss is that on defense half the team would take the veicles and leave the base and randomly fly around.

And a couple of times I have been betrayed juust before I would plant the flag so someone else could pick it up and get credit for it.

god yes, its not even worth it to go to team skirmish unless youre in a party... most people dont even know the basics of defending the flag, or seemingly of the game, and yet they are around level 12: how is that possible? and it always seems like the person doing the worst is the one to say "come on guys, i cant do this myself!"...

well if you think about it, you'd have to be pretty bad to lose a team slayer if your by your self.  You have all those targets and they all have only one.

No its not cheating, but everyone else is right, the less you use those weapons the better you will become, because you're more likely to not have those guns then have them when you really need them.

they might only have one target, but if they are in a group or even in the same part of the level your pretty much fucked the majority of the time... so 4v1 would be damn hard to win, not the other way around...

unless you have unlimited rockets and sniper rounds... then youve got a good chance...

simply break apart the group.  This is easier in halo 1, just take a pistol.  If there in the same part of the map NADE THE HELL OUT OF 'EM! lol
