Title: Halo 2
Post by: notsodiseased on November 29, 2004, 10:23:00 AM
Yea I feel You but it is the same in any game involving skill or stat tracking. When playing XBC I was guaranteed to have about 75% of the people who joined or whose host we joined, quit. The trick is to bask in its glory and not be angered by it.

My only suggestion to you would be to keep playing so skilled warrior such as ourselves can clash in battle. Believe me I wont quit  (unless my girlfriend walks in which case then yes I do what I am told ph34r.gif )

i'm jealous of you being able to bitch about the tards on xbl.  It has taken SBC 4 fookin weeks to activate my DSL (this wednesday).  I'm sure I will join you soon in ranting about morons.  For now I will join you by saying, yes it blows having to deal w/ Quality time Vs Game time

See you on XBL Soon!!!(or sbc will be bitch slapped)

how are they doing this as all games that count towards rank are set up to where this isnt possible? if youre in a party, youre on the same side... unless they are playing until they randomly meet up...

I know a fix.  Start playing on Xlink.  I havent met one asshole (well maybe one) but the majority of the people are 20-30 and have a life so they are fun to play with.  It always feels like your playing an intelligent group of friends.  Everytime I get on via XBMC I hear the faint sound of Cheers music.

Yeah, I was about to drop xbox Live once more...
but me and JbOnE played a tricks round with a guy on xlink..
He had the trainer running...
I dont know wich way to go. In one hand, little fucks screaming in my ear, or little fucks cheating with the trainer.  dry.gif
Sad day for Halo 2. I think I'll have to buy GR2 now.

dosnt that fuck ur stats even more then just losing? I remeber one day i was playing some rumble pit and someone called since they broke down so i had to go pick them up... i was in the lead and about to level up to 10 but i had to shut it down ... when i got back it took me down almost half a point.

yeah i thought thatd fuck up your stats even more, but it happens so often in head to head...

on a sidenote: i love head to head against a sword whore on lockout, as they cant really get the drop on you so theyre easy to kill and piss off... sweet retribution for all the cheap bastards in the rumble pit... biggrin.gif

People quitting as soon as soon as they see the map.

i wont lie to you , but i do that all the time , i hate Burial Mounds and Collossus.  laugh.gif

burial mounds+ objective games (i.e 1 flag ctf or assault)= pointless. I don't know about you guys but almost every game of them I play ends up as 0-0

BTW: bungie. net has an article about the stats, and how it handles quitters

You have no idea how annoying it is when you play Team Assault with 3 buddies (4 on 4) in a ranked Team Skirmish game, and once you score, they just go hide in the back corner while holding on to the bomb, so it just stays at Sudden Death.

We were playing in Burial Mounds and it was one to nothing, and they decided to turn it into a "Team Slayer" game and just sit there with the bomb and the game wouldn't end.  Our options were to either just sit there for a long time trying to kill them at their respawn point (which made it so even if you killed everyone, they would respawn and be near the bomb so it would go back to sudden death), or quit and have our rankings hurt.  That was the most annoying 30 minutes of my life.

I am horribly disappointed in the H2 playing on Live... I have been on XBC and Xlink as always, even though I got Live now...

Wow, finally some relief. The way they put players together is weird. When you are anywhere from lvl 1 to lvl 10, you will 99% of the time get stuck with some one else from lvl 1 to lvl 10. When you hit lvl 11, you 99% of the time get stuck playing against people that are lvl 11- lvl 15. Once that hits, the noob bullshit and 5 year old tactics are not around nearly as much and it's much funner to play.

Also about the hiding of the bomb thing, that has never happened to me. I thought when you kill someone, they spawn kind of far away from you even if you are right at their spawn point. Far enough away, it shouldnt count towards keeping sudden death alive.

BTW, I love burial mounds but hate colossus. i used to like colossus until today when I was playing CTF, some one grabbed my flag, jumped over the edge, through the flag at the top of their jump, flag dropped to the ground and bounced right back up to their side of the map where some one was conveniently waiting to catch it. in all, it prolly took them 10 seconds to get the flag from where it was sitting in our base to their base and score. When it was our turn, we had to run the damn flag completely around the map like you should have to and still got it only to end the game in them talking shit about us scoring in sudden death.

I like burial mounds because its much harder to plant the bomb or get the flag. in order to win in burial mounds, your team has to be considerably better then the other team to score. I just cant stand how some times my team will lose but when we check out the stats, our kills are so much better than the other teams. You will hardly ever see a team that wins in burial mounds and not have as many kills as the other.

your last paragraph only proved to me that your team(with more kills than the other should have one) didnt because u cant use "teamwork",if you used "teamwork" or tried to accomplish the "objective" you would have clearly won wouldnt you?As ther are plenty of other and better games, well this whole thread can be spit out in 1 sentence not even 1 sentence, a sentence fragment, stop playing fuckin halo 2!

I couldn't argree more although most people aren't really good (read : they have a life and don't play 24/7) it's still a lot of fun. I've had some really nice games on Xlink and some people in the private area's or the people that are part of a clan can have some impresive skills!

But ofcourse it isn't to bad either to get a few untouchables in a row while playing with a bunch of n00bs and see them join your team wink.gif

16-25.....+7 Levels
26-30.....+8 Levels

What annoys me the most of everything, is when you jump in a team game and there are three people in your party.  Another party of three jumps in, and then a party of two.  Then the game decides to split everyone up thus you have to play against all of your friends.  This is happened a numerous amount of times to me.

gcskate27 that chart is to show you the max level you will play against.  Whatever you fall into on the left you will only play a ranked player +whatever on the right.

I totally agree there's not nearly as many whinny little bizatches around level 10 and above.

Just to clarify about quitters. This is directly from the bungie stats FAQ

Similarly, if you as a player drop but your team goes on to secure a glorious victory you'll get just as much credit as your teammates that finished the game.

Now thats what sucks.

There is also this bit that says it does not matter about the kills/captures etc which I don't mind. Some peeps are confused about this bit though.
QUOTE
First off, the only thing that matters for experience and level calculations is your current experience points and your team's final standing, your place at the end of the game. It doesn't matter how you got there, and it doesn't matter whether you were the one that planted the flag or that got the most kills on your team. All that matters is the end result that your team achieved

One time I got stuck in a 3 vs 8 situation.  There was no chance we lost horribly.
When we were on offense the other team had 3 people on thier flag and the other 5 were camping on our respawn points.

With a 5 man advantage I would think that the other team would at least give us the curtacy of not trying to kill us until we left our base.

Then other team even talked trash to us after the game.

if its an emergency and you have to leave, just suck up the proposed drop in rank... theres no way to have a 'i really have something to do' quit than a normal one or everyone would use that...
Title: Halo 2
Post by: CamdogXIII on January 13, 2005, 08:11:00 PM
how about just don't make the drop huge but about the same as teh guy in last place, so
if it was an emergency then it wouldn't hurt ur rank to much,b ut if you quit over and over again, then they would drop.
