It didn't get a 10/10 b/c of the ending. And the fact that it didn't have co-op play over xblive or system link. The ending is such a big cliff hanger its not even funny, and Bungie better have been joking when they said that they weren't making a Halo 3.

i have to agree with you, 10/10 has to be a perfect game, which i feel is impossible to achieve. From a programmer/developer standpoint this would be impossible to make a game with that much content and not have a slight bug (even if it's slightly noticable)

halo 2 is an awesome game, a true experience but it still has problems just like every other game. there was a handful of issues i had problems with but im still having fun with the game (havent played a fps this long in my life)
screw the reviews, you know its great, go buy it.

i live here in mexico and i got a friend who works in this game store called
game planet.
he and the store manager carefully opened one.
and believe me... its the best thing i´ve ever played.
10/10 for me.

oh and everyone knows that to fully enjoy halo 2 (with its live features) one has to PURCAHSE the game when it comes out, i think that most if not all people who pirate this game will also buy it (like i did with fable, bought it first and then pirated it) piracy really isnt an issue when you pay for your game. so if you paid for it, dont feel bad getting it first over the net, i say if you can do it, fuck the bullshit, im having fun now.

I see why OXM gave it a 9.7. If it got the reasonable score of 8, people would riot in the streets.

i finished halo 2.
and im a big fan of halo...books , the first game...the multiplayer.
everything...and u ppl dont have to worry...
everything that was good on halo is still there...
if you care about halo...if you have been waiting for it...
its not going to dissapoint you...
for those guys who are always complaining about everygame
for those who doesnt really enjoy videogames as art.
for those who think that videogames are not what they used to be.
halo 2 is definetly not for you.
but a lot of ppl here in the scene...has access to a lot of games easily....
without efforts... so they feel free to just throw games out of the window...
even if its wind waker....or halo 2
ppl just dont like games anymore.
they find errors in every fucking game.
and the truth is.... halo 2 for me. a big fan
a 20 years old guy who have videogames since he was born.
its been one hell of a ride... if u liked halo... this one is better...
and by better i really mean it.
better gameplay... more difficult. more story twists...
missions so amazing that i felt very very excited while playing them.
and almost perfect multiplayer maps.
more guns... more missions.
and breathtaking ending.
thats halo 2.

Maybe they were taking all that time to soak it in though. I agree with you Ahser, but I gotta gripe about the mp a little bit. I was desperatley hoping for something like Danger Canyon.

getting back to the halo 2 review, professionals have to see it a lot differently, they have to be unbiased as possible, some of us know how that goes a lot dont. magazines, internet writers have to score this game fairly, for the flaws it does have it cant be overlooked just because the game is so awesome ya know? it already got great merits in the areas that matter so im okay with anything anyone throws out there. egm will prolly give it 10 across the board and i expect 9.5-10 from game informer. but look for similarities between each review and youll see where the achievements/failures really lie.
just remember in the end, thier score is just thier opinion, take it for what it is.
